Bruce Denill of the Citizen newspaper has given the dark knight rises 4/10. and goes on to say
"Christopher Nolan's Batman series is not quiet bad enough to demand universal vitriol but its certainly not the best use a viewer could make of its considerable running time . its especially poor given the pedigree of those involved -who may have started to believe i their own hype and thus giving up on pushing the boundaries "
on Bane "The villain speaks via a grotesque voicebox attached to his face and fails to threaten in the same way as the obvious reference star wars s Darth vader"
"Christian Bale and Michale Caine reprise their roles as Bruce Wayne and long suffering butler Alfred Respectively and do well enough given the dubious material they are given to work with"
he concludes by saying " a couple of twists will keep Batman groupies gasping but they have little or not impact on the outcome of the story so the writers may as well have saved money on a couple of actors fees. some great action sequences and a touch of wit from time to time will distract you from checking your time repeatedly as you wonder exactly what all the fuss was about and when you can leave the cinema and go shopping"
on this website http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1345836/ The Dark Knight has scored 9.1/10 from 160 000 users and a metascore of 74/100
who is Bruce Denill![]()
I thought it was 'ok'. 7 out of 10, nothing more. Was a big fan of the first 2, last one just made it go bleh
Just got home from the cinema. It's an awesome movie! I'll have to rent a Blu-ray with subtitles, though. Not sure what Bane was saying half the time...

I was let down by a poor quality cinema. Often blurry video and terrible sound. I could not hear what half the characters were saying. I totally gave up on trying to understand Bane. 7/10 from me.
“I believe Ayn Rand's first love poem went: Roses are red, violets are blue, finish this poem yourself you dependent parasite".”
Colbert
Worth watching, 6/10.
Big holes in the plot and couldn't hear Bane.
Sound was terrible at my theatre too. And unfortunately we can't lip-read Bane.![]()
Batman begins blew me away. The dark knight raised the bar. The dark knight rises maintained standards and delivered solid entertainment.
because of several guys on this thread complaining about the The Dark Knight Rises noise/sound i opted for Ridley Scott's Prometheus and its very good. cant wait for the sequel. The leading lady Noomi Rapace was fantastic . a must see !
Just got back from watching this at Monte. Sound, picture, all was good..
The movie itself- was epic. Hardy's performance as Bane was imperious. Especially when they revealed his origin at the end. It really made him that much more menacing, and more human.
Bale was OK as Batman. I appreciated how he actually proved the words of Rachel's character in TDK right.
Hathaway was quite the femme fatale. Also appreciated Nolan not going for the cheap "ass in tight leather shot" as often as he could have. The Avengers could have learnt from that (not that I am complaining at all)
Gordon-Levitt was the surprise package. His role was probably the hardest to add any significance to, but he stood up well to the main actors I think.
The only one who I found lacking was Caine's performance as Alfred. A bit too soppy for my liking.
Overall- I give it 8.9/10. Blame it on the butlerbut Nolan's directing is top notch in my opinion.
I didnt enjoy this one at all. The previous two were much better. Too many holes in the plot, hardly any witty humour, bad dialogue, bad musical score. 5/10 for me.
