    Default Telkom Line?

    Hey Guys

i want to get adsl but our phone account is on my fathers name but he and my mom are divorced now and he refuse to put the account on my mothers name.

So i just want to know if we cancel his account would the line still remain? And if my mom opens a new account must she pay the installation fee?

    thanks

If you cancel you are more than likely going to get a new number, if you are willing to lose the existing Telkom number then you can always go for a bundled deal (one of the Telkom Simple plans) which includes voice and ADSL services, as well as free installation. You would get Telkom capped internet with the deal as well, but you can cancel that after a month or two and get yourself uncapped from MWeb etc.

This is exactly what we are doing now, only difference is that we didn't have a line to start with - it's a complete new installation.

I think Telkom won't allow you to cancel someone else's line. Your father will have to cancel it himself.

Best way is to do a "change rentership of customer" with Telkom ,get the form and get him to sign, it is a reduced price.
Or as mentioned above get free installation on ADSL line.

Sorry, I forgot to add this - your father will have to cancel it. I presume though he would be more willing to cancel than add services...
