This should be directed @ Nashua as they handle the account and therefore credit limits.

On a 42mbps modem right next to a tower with an awesome upstream link and no other users etc etc it's possible but extremely unlikely something like that would ever happen accidentally. Otherwise just LOL, have some vaseline...

    So Im thinking.

The company purchased this and gave it to a staff member. Ergo the company is responsible for the data usage and payments. Does that mean one person can close the doors and bankrupt a company with something as stupid as a 3G dongle?

I actually have about 200 clients using these (Vodacom stuff provided through IS). This is making my company rethink its entire strategy on 3G wireless contracts. Basically we are going to be closing them all. If we have a user that runs up a stupid bill like this. R18 million is enough to close down our entire company....

Personally I think its a bug.

If one of my accounts exceeded R200k alarm bells would be ringing all over the place. I would be on the phone and shtting myself to make sure that they could pay that. Now were talking millions. I just cant belive that someone at Nashua just shrugged their shoulders and said "Wow look at how much this jackass is downloading" and left it at that.

I would ask for logs and stats, as well as information on what websites where accessed.

You can put a cap on all accounts, if you dont do that you are placing yourself at risk.
Some companies also do a shared payment, first R1000 or whatever is covered by the company the rest is the employees responsibility.

This has been discussed en nauseum. The problem is on a data contract you actually cannot put a cap on it. It just switches over to oob rates.

Incorrect. On a phone contract you'd have to pay up and switch to some form of pre-paid. You can't put a cap on a MTN or Vodacom contract.

    Default 9tb data bill

On a data contact Vodacom explained to me that if you start a session just before your cap is reached they won't cut you off until after that session is finished which could be days.

Might be a good idea to take out a calculator and do a few sums before posting away like crazy.

9TB in one single month is impossible on a 3G network. Do the maths.

My for fone is mechanically able to reach 7.2mbs (Galaxy Y), but I've never passed 1mbs.
    Maybe I'm wrong though.
