    Default Electronic Component Shops

    Hi,

Im looking for any basic electronic components shops in the Randburg toward Roodeport area.

I know of Mantech close to the city, RS Components in Kyalami and Communica close to Centurian.

Does anyone know of even a small shop with basic components in the West Rand?

    Thanks,
    StudentSA

RS Components do deliver for free
Also, if you're looking for random resistors and things, speak to a friend who does E&E at the university, he might be able to hook you up.

There is AC DC express in Roodepoort at Strubens Valley where all those big shops are like Mr Price Home, on Hendrik Potgiter. Not sure if that is what you looking for. It *seemed* their prices were higher than Communica, they probably aim at more domestic DIY market than to trade.

I live not too far from Lifestyle Crossing and know the AC / DC Express store...they are extremely over priced and do not carry basic electronic components but rather consumer grade electronics.
Discreet components are few and far between.

Stick to Communica, Mantech and RS Components.

I like Chineese shop R S Electronics Main St. (or Commissioner St.) JHB Malvern area, due to affordable price and good selection. Second choice is Mantech Electronics. Other guys (like RS Components) are very expensive.

You could also try Spectron in Marlboro or possibly Avnet/Kopp in Sandton

Thanks, I just browsed in there looking for a particular component which turned out they didn't have but what you said is exactly the feeling I got. Even though I hear the main trade AC DC edenvale is quite good. I personally have gone to Communica.
