MY Western Digital 200GB HDD died. Spins up slowly, clicks a few time and spins down. The BIOS does not see it.

Is this a recoverable situation? I could search for a replacement circuit board. My Backup is outdated and I would like to awaken the drive long enough to copy off the balance.

Check voltage on power lines. Reseat powe connector. Remove PCB and clean contacts with soft pensil rubber.
Replacement board possible, but with newer drives you need to transfer serial ROM chip or transfer contents.
