Default Using 3g dongle on Netgear Modem

Hey. I just cancelled my fixed line with telkom and bought a data package from Cell C. I want to connect my cell c dongle to my modem (netgear N300 wireless from telkom).

I know its possible coz it has a usb cradle. I just dont know how to access it once its plugged in. From my pc i have a LAN cord connected but i dont know how to access it.

I want to use it on the cradle so I can access it wirelessly from my phone or PS3. Tx

    Read the user manual...

I think it should be accessible when you go to http://10.0.0.2/

Usually the username & password is like admin & admin or admin & password.

The Cell C dongle might not be compatible though. Netgear only lists Vodacom & MTN compatible 3G dongles: http://www.netgear.com/3gsupport/mbr...uthafrica.aspx

No, cell c is compatible with my type of modem, I checked. The user manual was just a pic page and a disk that doesn't work. I clicked for wireless setup and it says click next, problem is that you cant click "next" its just a text not a link.

My N300 works with the Cellc (white one) modem perfectly.
Just plug it in and go to 3G mobile broadband settings in the router .
I dont have my 3G modem here but i have tested it and the fail over works well.
If it walks like a duck and kwaks like a duck ..its a duck

    OK.

Ignore the setup disk. Go into Internet Explorer and then go to http://10.0.0.2/

If that address does not work, then you need to get your Default Gateway's IP address, by opening up COmmand Prompt and running: ipconfig
and then you'll most likely have to scroll upwards to find your Default Gateway. If it is like 192.168.1.1, then you'll need to go to http://192.168.1.1 instead.

Unfortunately as far as I know there is no way to check the balance other than unplugging the 3G Dongle from the router and attaching it to the PC and then running the Mobile Connect software you would normally use on the PC. I have the same problem with regards to checking the remaining balance. I have now made it a habit to unplug the 3G and plug it into my PC to check every other morning before I leave for work (takes a few minutes but then at least I have a rough idea of my remaining balance) but when it gets closer to the end of the month I tend to check more frequently...
