    Default Budget Smartphone

Hey guys, been here stalking for almost a year so i decide to join the family.

Im looking for my first Smartphone, im using an old Nokia 5130 XpessMusic 'S40', its near its end of life even battery sucks cant last for 3-4 hours.
So atleast it might have a decent camera 'not more than 5MP', should have media media capabilities with 3'5mm headphone jack, long lasting battery.

I guess theres no phone contract for an unemployed person as im still as student ,so it will be in prepaid for not more than R3000.

    Thanks in advance guys.

Prepaid well there are a lot of choices. One is the Nokia 610 which is very good value for money.
However perhaps look further afield; some of the Chinese companies like Xiaomi and Huawei have tremendously good phones for ~$200; perhaps you could get one shipped over. We're talking quad core good displays good build.

    I'm using a Huawei G300, imported via aliexpress (http://www.aliexpress.com/product-fm...olesalers.html)

$200 incl shipping, expect to pay VAT, so ~R1900 all in.

    Custom roms available on modaco.com...

I had the Galaxy Pocket for a little while, that was quite an impressive little phone, has Android on it too.

For around R1000 it's very budget but still not bad.

Just save a little bit more and get yourself the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2!

It's actually a midrange phone, but packs one-helluv-punch.

    Should be here soon....
The Samsung Galaxy S2 - It is the only phone you will ever need.

Oh...no sorry I dont...but it is a very new phone for us....so the consultants might not know about it yet. That is why I gave you the U8815 model number that it is loaded with on our Ordering System as they wont pick it up with the G300 model number.

Samsung Galaxy Gio? Can be had for around R2k. I got one to test CellC prepaid with before deciding if I should port to them.

Depends on age. But yea it's a choice.

I like the G300 a lot, good option. If you can arrange it the Xiaomi M1 is brilliant.
