Thread: MTN data billing errors?

  1. #1

    Default MTN data billing errors?

I had quite high data usage last month -- and I bought a R189 2GB bundle at the start of July and again
at the end of July (as the special was ending).

I also saw on the web, and I asked about this on 808 where they confirmed that the out-of-bundle
data rate was R0.19/MB after I had purchased the bundle , and this would apply until the end of the
month after the bundle was purchased.

And then I receive a bill for R4.5K worth of data charges -- and I've launched a billing investigation
as it looks from my bill like I was charged an out of bundle rate of R1.90/MB? (And I thought that
the base out-of-bundle rate was R1.00/MB?).

When I bought a bundle at the end of July, I queried the unbilled balance...and was told that
"there were problems with data billing" and I should wait for the bill on the 15th and see / request
    investigation.

Has anybody else had suprise bills from MTN? Are there problems with data billing?

MTN's billing system appears to still be a complete disaster. Problems with overcharging on both data and calls.

I've used that special a few times, on a Top Up contract though. Also, I got the OOB of R0.19 for 60days not just until the end of the following month - I know this because I bought in the middle of a month and got the OOB until the middle of month 2 thereafter.
