why do these guys insist on riding on such dangerous roads? (ie roads taxis use)
 
Supersport will be paying tribute to him at 20h30 tonight with career highlights.

Will probably include his London Olympics race where he finished 5th and had me glued to the TV.
 
Something needs to be done with taxi in SA.More than 1200 deaths on our roads .

F-ing stupid comment! You should be able to ride wherever you want! And what roads do taxis not use! yes, I am flipping pissed off so forgive my attacking of your comment but it was idiotic.

RIP Burry. Condolences to his family and his wife.
 
He was a mate in school - a couple of years younger, cycled together - I am having such conflicting emotions right now, crying and ANGRY at the same time

All motorists need to make an effort. A small misjudgement can cause serious harm to the cyclists. Maybe need to add more about how to deal with cyclists in the Drivers License tests

Yeah there really aren't any safe roads. Of the many cycling deaths I've heard of they can happen at any time of the day, ignorant and more sinister anti-cycling types are on the road all the time. This is the first time I've heard of a taxi being involved.
