HI all,

I just found out that Telkom is offering Telkom Simple for R499. Thats free after hours calls to landline and on weekends, on 2MB line and Free 10GB, Free installation and free Router. free installation, and the interesting part is that its not a contract.

It is a contract ;)
 
If you take the router, it becomes a contract. They just dont tell you this. Also, it is a good deal if you willing to live without uncapped.
 
Just chatted to an agent after making an inquiry . She said that it is not on a contract and that If I cancelled Telkom would call me to collect the modem and dongle.

I asked you in the other thread as well, where is your source that this is a contract. Maybe you are the only one Telkom told that this is a contract.

Btw, the Uncapped offer is R644.

Its a DLink DSL2750u with 3G failover.
 
I got this when it first came out, last year feb, never had any problems, works well.

I got the Billion N300 or something. Its a good deal if you haven't got a dsl line installed.

When did you call. I tried this morning and they told me to call back tomorrow as my previous order was still open.

A few minutes ago I got an SMS to tell me that my order has been completed. So I added one and one together and called them again just now (assuming that if I got the SMS then my order should have a status of completed).

They've successfully converted it now to uncapped - got another sms to confirm. :)
 
I called twice (14:30 and 15:10) and same response :(

Edit: 3rd time lucky. The guy converted it for me now :)

My bad, didn't see your question. My friend and I took it out, only to discover they load a 12month contract on your bill. You will see the term 1 of 12 of your first bill. Had to go through a long process cancelling it.

We were told it is not a contract too. And when they come and install, you receive no paperwor and cannot prove it was not a contract.

OK, cool. hadn't received my first bill yet, so I'll keep an eye out for that :)
 
This sounds tempting even with a contract hmmmm
How would they process this if you already a client with them? Do u first need to cancel all your current products? and then start over?

I am slightly scared of the 1st months bill if they bill me for my current stuff and a simple plan
 
If u read the T&C you'll see :

•Customer must sign a compulsory debit order and 24 month sales agreement to pay off the device
•Offer is subject to credit vetting. Customer may be required to pay a deposit.

Wonder what this deposit is :confused:
