Women Raped in Moria
A twenty-seven-year-old woman was raped in Moria, Mankweng, allegedly by a fellow church member, Limpopo police said on Monday.
"It is alleged that the victim had gone to fetch her cellphone from the suspect," police spokesman Constable Moses Molepo said.
"She allegedly took the cellphone to the suspect's house to be charged."
When she entered the house he allegedly throttled and raped her.
The rape took place on Sunday morning around 2am. She was taken to Mankweng hospital, where doctors confirmed the rape.
The thirty-five-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Pregnant Teenager Raped in Limpopo
A fourteen-year-old girl said to be four month pregnant was raped in Mankweng, Limpopo, at the weekend, police said on Monday.
"It appears that the child had kept the ordeal to herself until the mother interrogated her and she confessed," said police spokesman Moses Molepo.
The crime was committed on Friday night
Molepo said police were investigating.

I've always wondered, the confirmation of rape, what does it involve? Do they check for semen? But then if the oke wears a rubber he'd get away with it so that cant be used as an indicator of rape, at least not a reliable one

Yes, they do check.
Phase 1: The initial verbal report and charge.
Phase 2: The medical check using a special kit designed for this purpose.
Phase 3: The results of the are added to the docket and the Prosecutor decides to move ahead with the prosecution or not.
Note: There may be other evidence as well, eye witnesses, condoms, dna evidence from the crime scene, etc.

They will look for bruising, abrasions, contortions, etc. (both within and without).
But even if there is no physical evidence, if a woman says no, then she means no.
If the man wants to argue that it was consensual, then there will hopefully be eyewitnesses who can corroborate his story.

ZCC Prophet Arrested for Rape: Report
A Zion Christian Church (ZCC) prophet has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman at the church's headquarters in Moria, near Polokwane, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
The woman, 27, alleged that the prophet, 35, put a knife to her throat while raping her on Saturday morning during an all-night prayer session on church premises, The Star reported.
The ZCC distanced itself from the incident.
ZCC official Ronnie Malahlela told the newspaper that the church was not aware of the alleged rape.
"We don't know anything about it. Ask the police. That's all I can say to you," he told the newspaper.
According to The Star, Constable Moses Molepo said a man was arrested on Sunday and was expected to appear in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court later on Tuesday.
The woman had been taken to hospital, where the rape was confirmed.

Critical Shortage of Rape Kits
There is a shortage of DNA rape kits at police stations in Gauteng and North West, it was reported on Tuesday.
Police management had ignored calls for meetings to discuss the shortage, The Times reported.
The kits are used to collect DNA forensic evidence from rape victims.
The newspaper reported that the Gauteng health department's forensic pathology service raised the shortage as a matter of urgency more than seven months ago.
In an e-mail seen by the newspaper, Pretoria pathology service deputy director Jaco Louw wrote: "The absence of these items [rape-kits] opens huge loopholes in terms of control over evidence and the chain of custody of evidence, resulting in suspects walking free.
"Despite meetings with police cluster commanders, our facilities still do not receive DNA kits or sexual assault kits from investigating officers as part of the pathologists' post mortem procedures."
National police spokesman Brigadier Phuti Setati told the newspaper the SA Police Service was aware of a shortage of the kits at some police stations, but that there was an oversupply in other provinces.
"As a result, we have embarked on a process of redistribution of the forensic kits to where shortage is being experienced."

KZN Man Caught Raping his Daughter by his Wife
A KwaZulu-Natal man was caught by his wife raping their 13-year-old daughter, it was reported on Wednesday.
He ran away afterwards and tried to commit suicide by cutting his wrists and throat, The Witness reported.
According to the newspaper, a police source told it the man's wife went shopping at 6.30pm on Monday and returned to find him raping the teenager in the bathroom.
After injuring himself, he drove to a local private hospital where he was reportedly found at 1.30am.
The girl apparently claimed her father had been raping her for the past year.
Lt Joey Jeevan told the newspaper he would appear in court soon on a rape charge.

A man accused of raping his daughter for 12 years appeared in the Nelspruit Regional Court on Friday.
Magistrate Willie Wilkins postponed the matter to April 3 so the man could appoint new legal representatives after his lawyer withdrew.
"I have consulted with my wife and she told me she was busy organising me another attorney," said the 53-year-old man from Kanyamazane, near White River in Mpumalanga.
He also refused to have an interpreter, stating he would testify in English.
The man has not yet been asked to plead.
He allegedly raped his daughter, now 23 years old, from when she was 11, impregnating her three times since 2001 and forcing her to terminate the pregnancies.
The man, who also has two sons and is a taxi owner, was arrested in March last year.

North West Premier Thandi Modise expressed shock on Friday at the rape of a 12-year-old girl.
"Though it served him right that the teenager bit off his tongue, the heartless criminal should be apprehended and removed from society," Modise said in a statement.
"He should pay for the trauma and ordeal that he put the young girl through in his quest to satisfy his lust."
The girl was abducted and raped on Sunday in Tlhabane, near Rustenburg in North West, while on her way to church with a friend.
Police said that, according to her friend, the rapist told the girl he knew her mother and would give her a lift. He then drove her to the area where he raped her. She bit his tongue when he tried to kiss her.
She was found on Monday morning around 7am and was taken to hospital.

Three men appeared in the Western Cape High Court on Friday in connection with the kidnapping, rape, and murder of a six-year-old girl.
They stood in the dock for the crimes against Asemahle Ntsabo in Paarl last January.
Their pre-trial conference was postponed for a week.
The defence team requested that their trial be set down for April 8 to May 2.
Ntsabo was playing with friends on January 21 last year when she went missing in Mbekweni.
Her remains were found two months later between bushes near railway tracks in the area.
The trio were linked to the scene by forensic evidence. According to the summary of facts document, Ntsabo was killed by strangulation.
The State alleges that the trio acted in conspiracy to kidnap, kill, and remove the girl's body parts.
