I mean do I reallllllllllly have to state the obvious. Just like certain protocols get priority, so can websites and IP adresses.

SPEEDTEST is rigged. Post a speedtest is not useful.

How exactly is it rigged? I would expect glorious results every time that I did a test, yet the result vary greatly, sometimes not in favour of the connection.

Speed tests are definitely useful. And there are many websites that offer speed tests. Test a few and compare if you suspect your ISP is manipulating results.

Seriously dude... its like you have forum tourettes... Every second day its a new post bashing mweb or espousing some huge conspiracy theory.

You are unhappy with Mweb. I Get it... I Understand - I am also unhappy. But just move on. Seriously. Enough is enough - you're just spamming now.

I believe that they can somehow manipulate results too. I used to be able to stream youtube 720p on my 4mb line these days 480 barely work and i ven get pushed to 240p. but speedtest always works.

edit you tube says my avg speed is 1.6mb and im sure its even worse than that.

what is up with youtube! seriously could always watch without too much lag now it's just awful! can barely make it through the ads. on mweb uncapped 1mbps. lol offtopic fueling the fire.

So it seems someone has moved on from bashing MWEB to taking on speedtest.net #FAIL

Not taking on anybody just saying the services used to work very nicely now they do not! Was considering scrapping my mono choice for netflix or hulu but with the streaming like it is whats the point? I also used to be able to stream twitch tv 1080p now its very very choppy. In your opinion what should I do?

@Jimmytheskull - What ISP are you using? If you on MWEB it seems you not alone, guys on 4MB lines are battling to stream 360p content.

My comment on taking on speedtest.net was directed at Nicole76 - who seems to on mission lately...

Apologies then yes I am on Mweb. Sent the Mweb guy a pm as well no response. Got a Axxess trial account will test it in the next day or two once I have my admin out the way.

Edit you tube also states their (Mweb's) avg speed is 1mb, which makes sense as there majority customer base is probably 1mb, maybe they have averaged us 4mb subscribers down to close on 1mb as well.

Maybe give 1 of the IS accounts a try too, Openweb and Plugg both offer free trials. Having trialed openweb and plugg I was impressed by both. I have a 2MB line and I was able to stream 360p without any buffering.

I'm currently with Buzybuy on the IS backbone and the performance is the same as what I experienved on OW and Plugg.
