Just got informed by Telkom they will not be able to install a line to my home due to high volumes of copper theft in the surrounding area.

Is there any wireless service available for about R800pm uncapped?

Neotel are ridiculously priced at R499 for 5GB and I had this NeoConnect service before and it's appalling... Their cheapest Wimax is R1299 excl. VAT which is a little out of my price range. I really don't want anything other than uncapped. So sad because I will also not be able to do online gaming

Try Kawuleza connect.

Depending on your area, they might be able to assist. Not ideal for online gaming, but playable...

Good luck

Yo could do worse than look at 8ta's 60GB + 60GB prepaid offer. While not uncapped, it costs R1800 for 120GB. That means if you download less than 40GB per month it will cost you less than your budget, assuming you have the infrastructure.

I have this deal and I'm quite satisfied. Others are simply raving about it with low pings and download speeds around 10Mbps, some report pings suitable for gaming. Others are not so lucky, check results in your house before investing. You should have an old 3G modem about, get a simcard and load a cheap airtime bundle. Use a laptop so you can move about and simulate the signal strength you can get using an antenna, climb on the roof if needed, do plenty of speedtests and pingtests. I bought a window mount antenna from Poynting and it was a worthwhile expense.

I'm having some trouble lately (recounted elsewhere on the forum) but provided 8ta can sort that, I would gladly recommend them.
