Regulator clobbers R5-a-day cell service

Buongiorno generate too much revenue for the networks, WASPA will never be allowed to suspend them. I've been in the WASP industry for 7 years and seen other members get permanently expelled for what Buongiorno gets away without even a warning.

I've always been of the opinion that WASPA is bias.

They are all scams imo.

You will be surprised.

The issue we in the WASP industry have with Buongiorno is there marketing approach and how the industry fails to regulate them. I work with two guys who worked for this company and both say they now get to sleep at night.

I didn't think a WASP would ever get me but I got taken for about 150 on my data SIM. I got refunded after some fight. The networks are complicit, they don't do **** to help and these wasps use numbers that never get through so I went directly to WASPA
 
I know a few people who have been scammed. They prey on the ignorant, its as simple as that. Verbal or written consent is what is required to sort out these scamsters. The regulator needs to step in as there is too much money involved for the service providers and WASPA to actually take any action.
 
I wonder whatever happened to a case of CellC and WASPA
 
Are these the guys who send random porn offers on Cell C? I've had them, my wife has and my kids. All state Rx per day subscription, but only after offering some obscene wares to underage kids.

The WASPA adjudicators should perhaps check the WASPA complaints website. If they do this, they will realise that Buongiorno has hardly paid any fines since 2009 (4 years ago). More than R 2 million is still outstanding. No wonder the sanctions of the adjudicators have no effect. I am suprised the WASPA adjudicators still bother to do work for WASPA ( at the price they are paid, it is more of a voluntary service ). Just think of the cumulative hours adjudicators spent on writing the hundreds of reports sanctioning Buongiorno, which is clearly futile if the sanctions are ignored.

They are an industry regulator - an example of an industry regulating itself. So when people post that ICASA is a failure and the telecomms industry should just regulate itself (e.g. spectrum allocation) I like to point to WASPA as an example of where that leads. This is capitalism in action.

WASPA also cannot regulate any company that is not a member. They have no legal authority. The best they can do is sue members for breach of contract. Of course ... if they actually do that, the member can resign, and if it's large enough WASPA loses a lot in terms of membership fees, so they then can't effectively do their job any more. They really are in a bad position here.
 
Crikey, so what are WASPA actually good for? Total waste of space IMO. Only solution is for consumers to hit the operators where it hurts and stop consuming.
 
These are all scams.......

I see that they send a sms to your phone saying click here from free wallpapers....... When you delete it your phone already auto replied to the number subscribing to the service. That makes the ISP think that you send that message when that is actually not the case. I hope these criminals just die

I cought them red handed doing that and nothing has been done. The only thing you can do is just unsubscribe.....
