Thread: MNP Why and Who?????

    Exclamation MNP Why and Who?????

Right maybe V3G can comment on this for us? Why and Who Postponed MNP? Because Cell C, Virgin Mobile & MTN are up in arms about it, But our beloved Vodacom are so happy that it was postponed (according to there website). Why would that be are they scared they are going to loose all there data customers to Virgin? Anyways I am sure that I am NOT the only one who wants to know this. But it would not surprise me if Vodacom was behind the delay .

I doubt you will get an honest response. This is an example of how an industry 'self-regulates'. To have two postponements already without sanction is just laughable. They are doing whatever suits them. I can't believe they didn't have a credible plan.

ICASA ought to let customers - who's contracts were going to expire this month but now cannot yet change to another network - have the option of extending it at a rate matching their destination network until MNP comes in.

We cannot allow this cartel to gain from this delaying tactic.

I agree with that, or at least offer those whose contracts expire in September and October the option of an early port.

From tomorrow mine expires and I have to go onto a month to month contract - while in the meantime I'm missing out on specials offered by other service providers and networks.
Procrastination is like masturbation. It may feel good at first, but when you look at the task at hand, you're actually screwing yourself.

Fine, I will wait to get my N80 and whoever operator will be the cheapest will get my money.

All the operators are to blame, especially Vodacom and MTN. They have been procrastinating since the beginning, blaming other people continuously

of course they will never admit it....

Do someone know what mnp will cost us? If I port from mtn prepaid to voda prepaid, and visa versa? And for contract users as well. I'm just curious to know, because I want to know if it will be worth waiting for.

I paid £30 each time I ported my number in the UK.

    BT Cellnet > One2One > Vodafone.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 - It is the only phone you will ever need.
