Thread: Vodafone Branded Phones

    Default Vodafone Branded Phones

    Howzit!

I want to get either the K800i or N80 but I'm wary of the vodafone branding. I remember reading somewhere on the forum that the phone's firmware up/down-graded to the original manufacturer's firmware. Can anyone help with some links/guides etc.?

I know for one the N80 is not Vodafone / VLive branded on Vodacom.

What you mean it's illegal? I think you mught be mistaking branding the fone with network locking the fone perhaps?

i flashed my k800i using the cable it came with on a site called:

    http://www.wotanserver.com/

    1. It will cost you R66 to do
    2. It took me 1h30 min to do (just leave the phone connected even if you think it is hanging or nothing is happening...it does take long)
    3. Make sure your battery is fully charged
    4. With your phone off, keep the "c" button pressed while connecting it to the pc .... (if u press the "c" button after connecting the usb cable to the pc, nothing will happen, as the phone turns on automatically when connected to the pc in its off state)
    5. Make sure u download the additional "flash" driver for the phone
    6. be sure to tick "finalise" on the client software

and yes i really do prefer the orginial K800i UI over the "beaten with the ugly stick" vodafone one
