Hi currently on an IS ISP and really sick of it!!! so unreliable! SO i'm looking at the Telkom ISP maybe the 3GB option.

What I wanted to find out is I do plenty of local downloads (over 10gigs) and some international surfing/downloading. Does telkom ISP offer you unlimited local downloads seperate from your 3gig cap? Or once you capped is it only capped for intl downloads/surfing and local downloading/surfing is unaffected?

What ISPs are mainly in use for guys on Greenlab and NC? and how much to you drill every month. I'm on 17gig (send&receive) for Feb

Also I'm using a D-link 4 lan port Router and not sure if Route Sentry would work with that.

Thanks in Advance!

Your router will do bridge mode so that's no problem.
Telkom don't offer unlimited local downloads after the cap.

1. Get a SAIX based international account. 2GB or 3GB is normally enough for most users.
You don't have to get it through the Telkom ISP - you can get it at other ISPs. Just make sure it's SAIX based and you'll pay less than through TelkomSA.net in most cases.
Example : Cybersmart 3GB on 384kbps = R125/month

2. Get an IS based local-only account from guys like OpenWeb or WebAfrica.
OpenWeb 30GB local-only = R121/month

3. Set up Route Sentry

If you have any more questions just do a search for Route Sentry in the forums - this topic has been discussed in detail already.

Well yes IS is a waist of time for international ,they should rename it skinnyband ,

If you want to spread the international part over 90 days ,then maybe GamCo could be a choice with the pre paid https://www.online.gam.co.za/ but could be a problem for Route Sentry ??

GAM are a bit pricey. And only 90 days carry over.

Have a look at the PREPAID & NOW accounts from Axxess:
