Anyone played around with this yet? Keen to see if there is any improvement.

I did this last night, playing wow I had a latency of 1200ms which was a improvement cause I was on during happy hours (normally my latency is 2500ms during these times) not sure yet if it was the settings. But this morning I logged on again and my latency was 455ms (best its ever been) then went up to 700ms. I will test it again tonight and confirm. But these setting didnt harm my connection. Hmm i would been keen to hear from someone who records the before and after dl speeds.

I'll check this out tonight, recording results, also, i am damn sure my latency is a bit better than those you quote, fortunate in my area I suppose. Let me get back to you, any sites you would prefer to benchmark against?

any site should do, since its recording the before and after. Just compare the difference between the two (if any), looking forward to see the results.

Hi all, I would like to know when is Vodacom going to introduce data carry over from one month to the next, I find it very unfair that I purchased 1gig data bundle and it lapsed before I have finished it, this is silly and unfair business practice, surely they are doing it on voice and they can do it on data bundles, but the temptation of greed is too much to resist, they remind me of one Telkom.

I downloaded the reg tweak directly from the above link supplied...DAYUM!!!This works !!Instead of slow screen info appearing, its bursts all in one go!!

Sorry,Im very technical when it comes to this..all I know,it works!

For dial up connections things seem to be handled differently by the operating system. Here, global values which are valid for all network connections have to be changed. These can be found in the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Tcpip\Parameters\. If not already present, create the following DWORDs and assign them a value of 128480 (decimal): TcpWindowSize and MaxTcpWindowSize.

I made the change suggested above and directly afterwards ran a speedtest at speed.vodacom.co.za/speedtest/. :D Speed increased to 1282 kbps! The fastest I ever got previously was 998 kbps. Hopefully this is not a coincidence?

awesome glad to hear it works. I havent had a problem connection to wow now since i did the tweak stable 400 - 800 ms. I also have found that if you connect using your windows based dial up connection (bypassing the vodacom software) you get a more stable connection.

I'm gonna try this as well tonight. I hope I don't screw it up though, I'm a little technically challenged.

There are optimisers out there that claim to work too, if you are not comfortable with editing / changing things yourself check out products on a the web, a quick search revealed this in SA.

Can't comment on it's effectiveness but @ R25 smackers it's worth a try.

If you do try the changes, at least backup your registry just incase.

Isn't that the same oke that try to sell "free internet" by exploiting the hole in VC's vlive portal?

Sure its the same guy....tried to search for old auctions but cant find anything.

Really? a mate of mine just purchased this :( can you be certain though? I must warn him, how can he tell if this software is bad?
