Weird thing happened 2 me today...Everything was working fine....UNTILLLL...i tried accessing my router. Doesnt matter WHAT i do, "something" makes my browser ( IE6 ) bypassing the logon screen to enter my router's password, telling me i have entered an invalid username/pass, without even giving me the logon box.... When i start up in Administator mode, i could enter the username/pass, but NOT from my normal Windows...I manage to do a system restore and that fixed the prob...Anyone here knows HOW the hackers/viruses does this?? :eek:

Depends. Many things' will go haywire if you use IE6 as ur regular, every day browsing needs. Use firefox.

It may have just been IE's feature to automatically log you in/remember your username and password and the one IE stored was incorrect. You logging in as Administrator and it working supports this as stored username/passwords are associated with a windows profile when using IE. Using Firefox or IE would result in the same behavior if Firefox or IE had stored an incorrect password.

IE6 = braindead.

Firefox2 = FTW!!!

'nuff zed.

At least in Firefox you can delete the incorrect username/password entry easily, not so with IE6...

Thanks for all the reply guys, but i still think it was some setting that was changed. My niece was also connected on the same router, and he picked up 4 viruses...it actually disabled all winxp functions on his machine. I remember reading about a "logon" hack somewhere before, but ive forgotten...lol Its something to do with the permission settings in XP that you can actually change to disable all logon popups. Thing is, i run CrapCleaner all the time, so any bad script or whatever should have been erased via CCleaner...
