Thread: Proxy settings

    Default Proxy settings

    Hi all

    2 questions:

    1. Do you set a proxy eg cache.saix.net etc with ADSL and which one do you use?

    2. Can one set proxy settings in the router settings (instead of browser settings) so that all PCs connecting through that router will automatically use that proxy?

    Many thanks

As far as I know, thats done automatically on the ISP side for you. You can probably set one up on your side if its really a concern, but all traffic that goes through the router will go through that proxy aswell

If SAIX excluded the data transfereed from their proxies from your usage cap, I would configure my browser as such. Until then, fakkem.

The reason I'm asking is because I've noticed that it does actually make a difference in speed when you use for example dsl-cache.saix.net:3128

You can't change it in the router settings and if you don't want to change it in the IE settings you could run something like squid and setup an upstream proxy.
