Ok so I went and purchased this today and installed it. Great hey, no not really actually.

I get an error message when i try run the game and it says mods/bf2/shaders/lighting.fx not found ????

I then tried to play on the sgs ranked servers but punk buster kicked me out saying the folder is modified or something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Re-install bf2 and patch it all the way throu to 1.4 then install SF and patch that all the way to 1.4
 
... if i had R1 for everytime i've had to re-install BF2 :/

I had exactly the same problem. Re-installing the 1.41 patch solved it.
 
yeh, so did i... eventually bf2 and sf were both borked - so i installed bf2, then installed sf, rebooted, then ran 1.41 .... works fine now and the maps dont take 7yrs to load
 
So i finally have a copy of SF and eventually got my pc stable enough for it not to fall over... now the only problem i have is i'm lagged stukkend.

When i play BF2 on the SGS servers, i'm fine ... when i switch over to SF and still play on the SGS servers, i'm much more lagged (same gfx level, alles) ... and i keep getting booted for high ping.

anyone else found sf to lag more, or is it just me (again) ?
 
I found SF a lot more laggy than BF on the same video settings and had to drop the video settings to yucky to be able to play it.
Show the FPS in-game and watch how it chews frames, especially the night maps.

i'll give it a try ... but how does everyone else get away with playing normally? silly broadbandits!
 
Bah getting the ol lighting.fx error despite having waited the long wait for 1.41 to patch that many times!

Stoke, dude there is nothing better than playing on yucky! oh wait I have to do that cos muh card is teh_suck
 
yucky setting FTW! *especially when snipers with 8800GTX cards can see you long before you ever see them*
