ICASA Consumer Advisory Panel Nominations

Closing date for Nominations 31st of August. Better get your skates on if youre interested.
 
Thats not on.

They should not be allowed to put such a short time frame on it, or as is probably more likely, delayed the posting of the document for so long..

My thoughts exactly. We need letters of acceptance and CV`s from you two now. Quick quick, time is short. If either of you accept please PM those details so I can send your nominations in.
 
Is there any point to multiple nominations for the same people? Will the nominations carry more weight if they are backed by rpm/myadsl, or if there are multiple nominations?

Given the short time frame, we may not be able to find out.
 
chiskop I think a single nomination from 'the MyBroadband community' will suffice.

The regulations governing the structure etc of the panel, as far as i know, are incomplete. Therefore it is very difficult to get people to accept nomination, as what the job entails is very 'fuzzy' at the moment. As for me....eish...I dunno, it's something I would like to do however it is dependent on how the body is eventually structured. Last I spoke to icasa they acknowledged that the call for nominations would be put out regardless of what stage the regulations governing the panel are at.
 
Debbie2, would you accept a nomination? I have no idea what's involved, obviously, and how onerous a duty it would be for the successful panelists.
 
I don't see any harm in my accepting nomination- and I am in a position to do so currently- as long as it is understood that I may reject when it comes down to it, due to a number of issues that may arise.

dominic, for various reasons, is prob not in a position to accept, but let him speak for himself.

dominic is indeed unfortunately unable to accept (but thanks you anyway) - simply a matter of time....i would unreservedly support the debbie2 and happily provide whatever help i can as required

have sent a FU fax to Paris and whoever else i could spam at ICASA with regard to this BS - 3 days and no finalised regulations...ntohing to tell you what time is required of you, whether there will be compensation (at least for disbursements like travel costs etc)

Would not surprise me if ICASA don't already have a full panel, courtesy of the DoC, this ad being mere formality.

Debbie2 gets my vote and should have a fresh CV handy from the fairly recent ICASA councilor interview ;)
