Just received an invite from DSTV. Will update here if there's anything noteworthy...

DStv would like to invite you to participate in two exciting "In-Home Channel Tests". During these tests your decoder will automatically be activated with the two new channels. These channels are ONLY available to selected Panel members for testing and evaluation purposes. Your feedback will tell us if these channels or type of channels will add value to the DStv bouquet.

Please note, these are not full channels, but a selection of programs just to give you a 'taste' of what the channels will comprise of. For testing purposes, only 8 hours of content is available. This block of 8 hours will be repeated 3 times a day. Each day will have the same 3 x 8 hour content to enable you to view at a convenient time.

Rest of the mail reads

DSTV said:
FIRST TEST: ZONE FANTASY CHANNEL
Test Period: 16 - 23 November 2007
Content: Horror, fantasy and supernatural programs
Schedules: Attached list of programs
Age restriction: Not suitable for children under 13 years

SECOND TEST: ZONE ROMANTICA CHANNEL
Test Period: 26 November - 6 December 2007
Content: Romance, drama tellenovella programs
Schedules: To follow

Due to some of the programs not being suitable for younger viewers the test channels are placed on the Commercial Subscriptions Bouquet so children will not be able to see these channels when surfing channels on the main TV Bouquet.

# How to access this test channel: On your DStv remote, press the TV button
# A menu will appear - scroll down and choose the Commercial Subscriptions option
# The Commercial Subscriptions Bouquet has four channels available
# P+ to the channel called FUT09 (Channel 165)
# On this channel, FUT09, you will find the test channel with Zone Fantasy programs
# To return back to DStv press the TV button on your remote and scroll up to DStv

Please note that according to our records your decoder with smartcard number (xxxxxxxxxxx) has been activated with the Zone Fantasy programs. If you have any problems receiving this test channel please do not phone the call centre but rather click reply to this e-mail, provide us with details of your query and we will respond as soon as possible.

During each test period a survey will be e-mailed for your feedback. It would be greatly appreciated if you would participate in the survey regardless of whether you watched the channel or not as this will give us an indication of the appeal of this potential channel amongst our valued subscribers.

Hope you enjoy watching some exciting new programs and we look forward to hearing what you think!

Luke7777, yea, was going to post the rest of the message when i was sure i hadn't agreed to some implied NDA I wasn't aware of. But i guess it would be public knowedge if you can see the EPG lineup even if you can't receive the channel.

must say though, not mightily impressed by the sounds of the programs. that ghost stories program starts in 1997 - so not really cutting edge.

Didn't see anything in there that looked top secret, so... ;)

HAHAHA, and Luke7777 :p

my conscience is clear when I made it very clear in the previous surveys i received that I am not interested in the slightest in Channel O and "which is my favourite VJ on Channel O", and that I want some decent alternative music channels like Kerrang! and MTV2
