Sony says PS3 to blame for lack of PSP games but promises raft of new titles
3/11/2009
The PSP may finally be getting a good run of games with title like Beaterator, LittleBigPlanet and GTA Chinatown Wars but it wasn’t always the case. Now Sony’s bosses have revealed just why it’s handheld took so long to take off.
According to Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida say the Playstation 3 is to blame for the slow trickle of titles for the PSP.
“A couple of years ago we clearly put too much focus on PS3 titles,” says Yoshida. “It caused a lack of support for the PSP last year. We need to be focused and gear a lot of our resources back to the PSP. We have many titles this year.”

I wonder, after reading the unfortunate loss figures about the PS3 today whether Sony has decided to focus on something that may in future be a bigger money-spinner. I'm sure their shareholders are anxious with regards to the news about the PS3 and maybe the gaming department has realised their asses are on the line if there isn't a dramatic upswing in sales. If that isn't coming from the PS3, maybe it'll some from the PSP?
