I received an SMS (WAP PUSH message) in December and thought it might be a Christmas wish from somebody. Upon opening it, I found myself subscribed to some video download service charging R20 a week. They only deducted
R10 off my account initially before I managed to unsubscribed myself.
This is daylight robbery.I only opened the message. I didn't agree to anything and certainly not to have R20 deducted weekly from my account.
I'm still waiting for feedback and will probably never get any.
This is unacceptable. If 100,000 people received and opened that message this December, that's R1,000,000 stolen.
Vodacom needs to implement a pin of some sort to prevent people from just taking money from your account.
