I have tried every method possible to make contact with management at Sentech and in spite of many promises to "get back to me", there is never a response.

May I remind you (Sentech Management) to read your company's Vision, Mission and Values as published on www.sentech.co.za under "About US" and I quote your "Values" below:

1) - "We practice integrity, honesty and fairness in our dealings with all of our stakeholders"

2) - "Quality customer service is the cornerstone of the success of our company and we endeavour to make every customer contact a pleasant experience"

3) - "We provide our people with opportunities to develop to their fullest potential by ensuring quality leadership, rewarding excellent performance and encouraging innovation"

4) - "We value the diversity of our people"

5) - "Our business is run with a commercial and customer-centric orientation"

WHAT A JOKE, I don't think any of your "Internet" staff understand what the above means!

In desperation after many phone calls starting in August 2006, from "unidentified" people most of whom could hardly speak english, I insisted that they e-mail me so that I could make an informed descision regarding my options.

To my surprise, no such e-mail has ever been received!

On the 21st of September 2006, I registered a ticket (number 44116) and followed it up on at least 6 times with zero response - just promises. I expected to know by the end of September what to do depending on your response and RESERVE my rights regarding this.

It is now almost the end of October and I am "GATVOL" of your (Sentech Management) non-caring attitude toward customers.

How can you increase the price for an existing package (Classic 128) from R500 for up to 10 GigaBytes of data (was unlimited when I signed) to R10,000 for 10Gb (That is an increase of 20 times) if I work on your advertised price of R1.00 per MegaByte (= R1000.00 per GigaByte)

YOU GUYS ARE DREAMING!

A quick search on the internet (locally) found me ADSL bandwith ay R60 per GigaByte from access.co.za available in 1Gb Blocks and upgradeable on demand in 1Gb blocks.

Please explain how a small ISP based in Port Elizabeth can charge R60 and you charge R1000 for the same 1 GigaByte of data!

When I do find another service provider, I will be taking you (The Sentech Management) to the Small Claims Court for the cost of my modem that you through no fault of mine has been made redundant. (I don't think the court would consider a 20 times increase for a service reasonable and I should have no problem recovering the cost of my modem from you.)

Hopefully, all other users who find themselves in the same position will follow suite and issue summons to your CEO!

Since you may not use a lawyer in the Small Claims Court, I suggest you seriously reconsider your next move - Can you imagine how much time and money you will lose if 500 users all did the same thing!

Dr. CEO of Sentech - PLEASE think again - It may already be too late!

Personally I think that many companies so called "mission statement" is just lip service, and if they cannot read the writing on the wall it is doubtful that will even respond to your letter, and if they do 'twill in all probablity be a meaningless form letter. I know I would be curious to see what response comes out of this letter, and I suggest you post it to places like hellopeter.com, and maybe a few newspapers and see what pops out of the hole.

Small claims court... never thought of that... nice idea actually

Couple of users should get together and let things happen....

That goes to all the wireless company's ripping off the clients..
and also Telkom with the DSL offerings..

whattaripoff

Keithr,
please don't see this as negative...... I REALLY REALLY think that you have a valid point, but....
Knowing South Africans the way I do, I doubt whether you will get ten customers to stand together and not the five hundred you hope for...
So lets make this a chalenge...

Come on all you unhappy Sentech/NoWire customers, if you are willing to join the "fight" show it! A quick yes in this threat will do.

Lets hold thumbs Keithr -
Well how about this. In the space of reading this threat and posting my reply I have already experienced two disconnections....
So anyway
a GREAT BIG YES FROM ME!

gatvol... i was till i decided to leave them and get dsl. lost R4500 on equipment but i could maybe possible resell my modem and fish atenna, but now atleast i wont have a castrated '256' disconnected service anymore.

You haven't seen their amended mission statement then - here it is:

1) - "We practice integrity, honesty and fairness in our dealings with all of our stakeholders. Maybe we should practice some more, because we're not doing that AT ALL"

2) - "Poor customer service is the cornerstone of the failure of our company and we endeavour to make every customer contact as unpleasant as possible"

3) - "We provide our people with opportunities to develop to their fullest potential by ensuring quality leadership, rewarding excellent performance and discouraging innovation. We also sexually assault chickens. "

4) - "We value the diversity of our people, just look! We hire mentally challenged people to man the help desk and manage the company"

5) - "Our business is run with a commercial and customer-centric orientation. In other words, we want to suck the SA internet user dry. Pity we won't have any customers left by the end of October!"

Oh also, you're wasting your time. They don't care. They treat their customers like they hate them... thankfully even SA consumers are managing to wake up and smell the feces.

Very good Donovan - They should hire you to redo their entire NON-ORGANISATION! It can only improve their image.

I heard on the "Grape Vine" that some of them have already read this thread - Maybe someone will have the balls to reply!

I sent a long complaint to them once with every possible e-mail address I could get out of search engines.

The next week I phoned and every single person there knew who I was ;)
I cancelled my contract back theeen when they decided to change the contract, to limit usage.

Sentech has always been quite lovely towards their customers.
Considering their network, you'd imagine they could e-mail their users to tell them about changes in their contracts.

back to the yes or no question as to whether i'll support the idea of kiethr, my answer is a definate yes. Its time we stopped accepting poor service and start demanding what, quite frankly, we should be getting.

PLEASE all users who feel the same way as I do VOICE your opinion HERE (this thread).

I know for a fact that management at Sentech is reading this - They have made FOOLS of us with false TV and Radio advertising - It is now time to mobilise a HUGE group and together I believe we can show SENTECH we are serious and WILL hurt them where it count most - IN THE POCKET.

Imagine 500 of us each suing them for R2000 in the Small Claims Court!

Not only the money - The CEO would have to appear in the Small Claims Court 500 times - That is even a greater cost - Just look at the annual reports on their website and you can see the salary she earns - THIS will TIE her up for over 18 months assuming 1 court appearance a day.

Guys lets UNITE and DO IT!

DEATH TO POOR (NON-EXISTENT) "SERVICE"!
I'm with you Keith. Also see my post: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?p=718684#post718684

Just posting to voice my support. They're a disgusting company and deserve a class action suit against them.
