Well said and it is really disgusting.

I saw something similar on ITWEB (i think) about the previous CIO of Home Affairs winning an award and almost puked. Arguably the worst performing department in the whole government.

Ivy's speech to parliment not so long ago was virtually nothing more than pages of pats on the back for pals and herself. Reality means nothing to them.

Its becoming easier to draw the conclusion that Ivy, Paris and Co really don't have a clue. They either cannot recognise, or just plain refuse to face facts.
Hopelessly out of their depth the lot of them and nothing more than token appointments for struggle buddies at the expense of the entire country.

Ye who decides on these winners? Did the ANC enjoy the minister of home affairs' braai on saturday maybe?

for her work in driving ICT development on the continent.

Ahahahahahaha ahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahaha ahahahahahahaha. *wipes eyes* Ahahahahahaha.

Makes me weep.

"for her work in driving ICT development on the continent."

Yeah, BACK TO THE DARK AGES!!!

I am absolutely shattered! Maybe it was a typo and:

Quote:
"...for her work in driving ICT development on the continent."

Should actually have been:

"...for her work in dEPriving ICT development on the continent."

Why things like this still amazes us, I don't know. We have to wake up and smell the roses that we are truly part of Africa now. They do things a little bit different here than in the real world. Accolades are being handed out like it is candy whether the recipient deserves it or not. If the ceremony justifies putting on the graduation attire even better, then the recipient feels that much better about him/herself for all the 'hard work' that they did.

No wonder the rest of the world is laughing at us behind our backs (and sometimes right in our faces). Why else do most of the countries in the developed world not recognise the qualifications that are being awarded here as being bona-fide anymore?

“That’s politics, but perhaps she got it for driving Africa backwards.”

What makes it so funny though is that its true!!!

I would have thought by now that it was clear that her only function is to draw a paycheck from government.
