Is there a way that i can send a fax from my PC to a landline fax machine, and recieve a fax from a landline fax machine to my PC.
I do not have a Telkom landline, no modem, i only use GPRS phone as modem.
Maybe software to do this, or a service? (Free or maybe a small fee)
This is for home use.
Thx.

I got this in a spam email the other day and thought it may be worth keeping. I have no idea if the service they offer is good or bad so this is not a recommendation :)

Hopefully they aren't just out to harvest email addresses.

Thx, i saw this site earlier this morning, but they want my email address before i can go on their site. I want to see if they only work with email. I don't know if a landline fax machine can send a fax to my email.
I don't like their idea of logging onto their site with my email address.

I use http://www.faxfx.net for my business ... I can send out faxes from any program by "printing" them but it actually faxes ... which costs a little, not like a phonebill ... but I can receive faxes for free to my e-mail.

I've just recieved a free 0866****** number from BestFax, so i can recieve faxes to my email. http://www.bestfax.co.za/
This will come in very handy, though what i really need is to send a scanned copy to a landline fax. Reason is if i order an item and the shop does not use the same bank as i do, then there is a clearance period ± 3 days. If i deposit the money cash into their bank acc, scan the depositslip onto my faxpage and fax it then the following day the courier picks up the item.
So i still need to find a way to fax the scanned faxpage from my PC to a landline fax.
Help needed here, please.

Thx eitai, i see we've posted more or less at the same time.
It seems to me that the fax2email is free, but not the PC to Fax.

PC 2 Fax is where all the companies make their money ... the Fax 2 e-mail is always free. But at least they are well priced.

Your phone has to support faxing, and your phone company has to also support this feature. Virgin Doesnt.

Cellbel, phone your Service provider.

What does receiving a fax to his e-mail and sending via his PC have to do with his phone? Did I miss something. It has nothing to do with my phone when I use it.

I Have 3g With Vodacom, looking For Free Pc To Land Fax Line.
Or An Inexpensive Privider.
Thank You

Someone on this forum has a link to a free fax2email service in their sig, can't remember the website or the person with the link though. :D

Anything can?

Unless I'm wrong, a fax call is simply a "data" call over an analogue line. Kinda like the old days when you dialled the ISP on your mobile to connect to Net.

So any cellphone/gsm modem capable of making a voice call should be able to send a fax. It just connects via voice to the number and your software will send the right data down the line.

One thing I did notice is the Huawei 3G modems dont seem to support voice calls. So I dont think you would be able to send a fax with them. Pity, cause it would be much easier.
