Hi All,
I currently have a 384 line with Telkom and I would like to upgrade to 1mbit or higher, but I am not sure if my line stats will be able to accommodate a higher speed. Currently my line attenuation is pretty good at 12db on the down stream but my SNR is currently 3db, which sucks...
Thought I would through this to the Forum and see if i am alone or if there is a general problem.
I recently got signed up for one of the 4mb Uncapped accounts and based on most of the post i read, I was hoping that it would be a good product.
First test I did was a Speedtest, got: 35ms...
Hi guys,
I am moving back to SA after 13 years away and as such am totally out of touch with what is available and best deals.
I will be working for an international company from home in Modderfontein and need a good ADSL connection. Does anyone know what sort of speeds people are getting...
Seacom has landed, not to mention 4 other cables coming in. They've dug up all our pavements for fibre. How come we still don't have high speed internet (100Mb/s)? When will we get it? Will it be cheaper?
Is 10 Mbps enough bandwidth for most people?
Fibre-to-the-home is becoming more widespread internationally, but some people argue that 10 Mbps is enough…for now
I am paying for 128kbps uncapped but why does this say that Iburst only allows for 64kbps?

This is my record from back in 2003 :
Done using a Lucent LT WinModem on a R7 Weekend call special from Telkom. The line quality is exceptional because this is a farm line that only had 2 lines going to the exchange (800m away). The ISP was ABSA (free internet).
I am new to this forum …
Is there anywhere where people can log their internet speeds? People randomly post their speeds in the forum; is there not a place where it is tabulated?
This recent study ( http://mybroadband.co.za/news/adsl/15798-Fastest-ADSL-ISP-accounts-revealed.html ) is great but...
Greetings
I am looking to find an ISP that gives reasonable international speeds.
I noticed whilst streaming a video from an international site on xbox live this weekend that I was only getting about 500kbps on AXXESS Lite unshaped.
I then purchased some R29 for 3GB from Afrihost and I...
What has happened to the Telkom ADSL line speed in the Honeydew Ridge area? I have for the past month or more been having a major problem with the connection speed slowing to a crawl. Telkom (who is also my ISP) cannot seem to solve or even acknowledge the problem. They say that they are unaware...
Does anyone else feel like since mid-month seacom issue their adsl has not returned to usual speed? On a 4mb adsl line with afrihost and for example when trying to pull a file off box.net i get about 6 - 8kb download and the download times out before its done. plus many sites are seriously...
Afrihost + Uncapped = (Disaster x Disaster x ......) , True or False?
! Don't jump into conclusions just by seeing the past forums about praising Afrihost!
People change so does the UNCAPPED policies of Afrihost as well, becoming the worst for customers.
From my experience, regardless...
Made mine this morning.
Got a payfine advice that I have a new fine. Logged in, got message "No admission of gault allowed. Court attendance required".
Phoned call centre and got advised to go to the Metro Court in Fox Str. Get there, speak to prosecutor, get sent to JMPD in Loveday...
Hi,
I have a curious situation - I've posted on EE for input, if anyone knows what type or to what degree Mweb shaped their uncapped accounts, please post:
Hi,
