I bet they are tracking the numbers being searched on. If enough different numbers from an area are searched then they will prioritize that exchange. Then you can tell where the demand is highest and hence fastest return. Its the way I'd do it.

This service can not be converted to 10Mbps Fastest DSL at this stage. Please check again in future as we are continually upgrading the network

What are you smoking - this is Telkom we dealing with ?
 
"Ultra High-speed"???

10 mbps is far from Ultra High Speed. It's pretty average for the world. Another big fat Telkom Lie.

Let me know when they are offering 100 mbps.

It took a few calls to 0800357357 with people telling me the same until I got through to someone who changed my profile.
 
What if your speed was downgraded due to the upgrade. I am syncing on ADSL2+ but my speed has dropped by 600Kbps. In the Article it says the minimum speed for those upgraded is 5meg, if you can't sync stably below 5 then what. Telkom need a mid-range package between 512 and 4 meg imho. To cater for those that don't live in the exchange.

Another thing, had some Telskum techies out here and after they left I was syncing at 3 meg but my attenuation increased due to it, I'm not sure how they do that but I'm pretty sure its not supposed to happen.
 
I was put on 10mb this morning after being on 8mb last week but can anyone tell me why when I was on 8mb my adsl mode was G.Dmt.BisPlus but now when the lady put me on 10mb I have gone back to G.dmt
My downstream is still 8mb but my upstream has changed to 1mb

SNR Margin(Upstream) 5 dB
SNR Margin(Downstream) 13.0 dB
Line Attenuation(Upstream) 7.0 dB
Line Attenuation(Downstream) 18.0 dB
