if it makes you feel any better.

the guy 2 houses down in my complex has 10 meg. But when i put my number in this wonderous machine ! i get the not supported bla bla bla !!

and i know for a fact another 2 people on my exchange with 10 meg :/ seems im the only one !

Table View, CT. supports 10 Mbps. But telkom wont upgrade if asked. "It will be done when its done" So its a luck of the draw, even if the exchange does support it.

Are you on the exchange at the Fruit and Veg just off Wood Drive? I had a telkom techy out yesterday checking a problem out and he said I'm too far from the exchange (I'm near the McDonalds on Wood Drive) and wont be upgraded even though some are running higher speeds on the same exchange - Bummer....

This site is up to ****. 3 days ago it stated yes and now today is stated no....

Telkom = Useless :D

Wynberg 7 Exchange Cape Town = Supports 10MB According to the help desk but ja........:wtf:

I'm wondering why Telkom was creating such a hype about this when they are only able to support a few people!

I could not agree with you more. Hellkom should have just upgraded the lines then made a statement that they had done so. They would have looked much better. I guess what do you expect when the company is run by a bunch of idiots rather than business people.

when i phoned telkom they said i was on 10Mb but when i use the checker i am not
Uselesses!!

Mowbray (021685) - Yes (too bad I've got a 384)
Claremont (021674) - No.

Fairly illogical if you ask me...

Magaliessig : Your exchange supports up to 10Mbps fastest ADSL. The provision of such a service is subject to port availability, distance, copper quality and line sync speed limitations..

however i still sync @ 4 mb :-(

Umhlanga area, Durban - 031562 - that's a negative big bird

something's not right though. If you can upgrade you get the message "Your exchange supports up to 10Mbps fastest ADSL. The provision of such a service is subject to port availability, distance, copper quality and line sync speed limitations."

Errr if not port avail, distance, etc, what does the online app check?

Blouberg : 021 554 xxxx
Supported: No

Sounds dogey to me, but i had a tech that replaced the hardware for my port about 2 days ago latest hardware and software on my port and my line is now syncing at ADSL2+ now..... Does that checker maybe check the entire exchange to see if its been attended or check on a line by line basis i wonder because i think i just need someone to bump up my profile . What do you guys think maybe im wrong !
