3G/HSPA/LTE Routers

I'm sure that it is a rebranded Huawei (except for the pics posted earlier), I doubt Cell C will use another brand to market. Using Huawei makes support from their side so much easier too.
Sorry if I am trolling, but I think the Cisco E3000 I just got is awesome! No more connection drops like it did when connected to either pc or notebook!

I am sure you should be able to get them at most Cell C shops (I would try the ones in 'bigger' malls first)

Don't waste your money. It will work. But there are better routers for less money. That one should cost around R199.00 not R599.00

Wanna test a router?? Get the Airlive Air 3G. It has a 1 Watt radio with a range up to 1 Km. It only costs around R699.00
Plus all windows facing the sea.

It is 802.11n (final), but incomplete; without MIMO. Therefore maximum speed is reduced to 150mbps, this doesn't bother me, but range can be reduced too. You must be carefull when searching Internet for the technical data. See quote from User Guide.

Well, most people, buying that are going to be using it in a flat or town house, so if it can go 50m it is fine, most people couldn't be bothered about the speed, as long as they are connected to the internet, and can browse Facebook, a few forums, and get their e-mail, for them the BIG bonus is, they just walk into their nearest cellphone shop and walk out with the device, and it just works.

No having to schlep from one computer shop to the next trying to find a place that stocks the brand they want CISCO/ Netgear, D-Link whatever, ... , alternately trawling from one online retailer to the next to find a unit that works better, faster, and has a few more features ... , and when you find, pay for it, and have to wait 10-14 days for it to arrive ... , the so called "perks" of living in the "New South Africa"

1km range, what, you wanna setup up a hotspot for the entire neighbourhood ... :)

He he....I'm thinking maybe a neighbourhood network. No Internet access just "file sharing" Security network, LAN Intercom etc.

I saw them on Pricecheck.co.za...a shop called Symbriatic or something

I understand your point. Just want to point out the service from uniterm is excellent and you don't have to deal with any incompetent sales people etc. I ordered my routes on a Saturday and had it set up and running on Monday.

Range is freaggin awesome dude!!! I have had no issues…it just works! ;) basically i could offer internet access for the entire complex ;) built-in hotspot functionality sweetens the deal and works super as well…I would definitely recommend this to those who are still looking around for a router…
 
@ Neetz...Aha!!! I knew it. Most routers have a 200mW radio. A 1 W radio is way above average. I got the TP-Link for Internet access but I wanna get the Airlive for a little community network I wanna get going.
Those kind of networks are popping up all over the UK at the moment. Gotta get me some of that!!
