I tried the sniffer tool thing and it didn't work for me ... the laptop I am using is the office's and I don't want to install stuff that I don't understand fully or know how to operate fully. Isn't there someone out there with the k3565-z who had asimiliar problem and had to create a bin file? Please ....
General question posed to everyone using a 3G modem with a router, not intended as a solution to OGroteKoning's problem:
Is your router unable to supply enough current to your USB modem?

No, there is enough power. My k4505 works fine in it

Hi, I need help. I have a Huawei E1820 usb modem on Cell C and it worked in my Netgear MBRN 3000 router. Now I switched to 8ta sim in the Cell C usb modem and it doesnt work in the router. Any help?
Note: The usb modem does work with the 8ta sim in, but just not when plugged in the router.

Have you tried firmware Build 110617?
It resolved a problem (Modem disconnecting, Web UI "hanging") I was having with my MR3220 recently. (Build 110418)
Not sure why TP-Link "pulled" it from their site though.
Maybe Kernel can help with that?

I'm not even sure that TP-Link really knows what there doing. The firmware you mention is available from the german site: http://www.tp-link.com/de/support/download.asp?c=10

Yes bundu it is. I am using my k4505-z with a MR3420. I have just installed 110617 FW and it works.
Will give it a try again.... Have you done the FW upgrade over wireless or is this too risky?

I still haven't gotten down to getting mines. Will you be getting in more? And when?
tried 110617 and even 110125 FW on the MR3420.
The E1820 modem works perfectly on all of them, but the cr@p K4505Z only stays connected for between 5 and 10mins.
I then put the vodacom sim in my E1820 and have been connected for over an hour now, so the K4505Z is a kark modem or mine is stuffed.
Am going to try and exchange it....
