I thought you opted for the Asus unit? I can find out about the support and let you know..

The Asus is a pocket router, really meant for travel, although with the current MR3420 firmware it does work much better than the MR3420.

But it would be nice if I could get the MR3420 to work, rather than to just have to throw it away !

Yup, from Uniterm Bedfordview, Pieter in our stores has worked quite a lot on these units so will be able to help you, bring the modem along. Just take note that we're almost out of stock on the MR3420's so you'll need to order one soon if you want it.

Thanks kernel and the team for the prompt help and assistance at your shop. You guys rock!!

Thanks for the compliments, hope you're happy with your purchases.

Okay ... I'm struggling a bit here with my old VDC K3565-z modem. I can't get it to work and the bin file didn't help either. Please assist. Oh yes - it's on a TP-Link MR3420

what version firmware are you using on the router? If it's NOT the 110418 version, load the 110418

I take it your problem is that the router does not recognise the modem and that the modem is DIRECTLY plugged into the router? How long have you waited for it to connect?

My E1820 connects in about 1m10sec, but the crappy K4505Z takes ages and frequently disconnects - The E1820 has at the moment been connected for a week without losing connection to Cell C

What do you mean by "can't get it to work?" I've found that sometimes the router only shows "3G modem" but still connects when using the Kxxxx series modems.

ajax see below

Yes - connected to the router directly. I went out for a smoke and came back with a message that it can't recognise the modem I must do manual settings.
My K4505z connects witing in +-1min

Did a test result with the K4505z (just to entertain myself before I have a complete sense of humor failure) http://speedtest.net/result/1461401346.png

Okay ... I am almost bald!!! can someone please assist.
I can't get the MR3420 router to see the K3565-z modem (Vodafone). I have disabled pin request. I have installed the latest firmware 3.12.8 Build 110418 Rel.43954n. I have also done a restore and new setup on the router. I downloaded the K3565-z bin file from the TP-Link site and still no joy. My unreliable K4505-z works on this setup. Both modems work in a laptop. PALEEEAAAS YELP!
