TP LINK MR-3420

Hi Uniterm, I am having a problem whereby my connection to the internet is terminated after a few minutes of use, I am using a macbook pro under Lion (was doing this with snow leopard as well) I have sent you guys an email and was advised that I should return my router for you to check it. What I have noticed is that the connection is stable with my PS3 so obviously the problem lies with the connection between the router and the Mac. The only way I can get the connection to work again is if i switch the wireless from my mac off and then on again this will get it working for a few minutes again but this just becomes irritating after a while. When the connection stops the wireless signal strength as shown from my apple is still at 100% I have also sent your support guys and email outlying the problem. I have tried ALL the trouble shooting steps to no avail. And my Lion OS has been installed about 3 weeks ago and I still get the problem.

On another note how can I get the usb extension for my router from you as I read a post that states members who have bought tp link routers from you can get a cradle.

I am using the same firmware.

The BIN file seems good, been running for three hours without a disconnect !

Edit : The MR3420 is not 100% stable with this BIN file - we still need TP-Link to come up with better firmware !!!

The E372 modem, however, runs fine !

what version of the firmware are you running? I know they had a version on their site that they removed. I have a mf668 and its working perfectly on my router. standard firmware, no bin. Try resetting to factory settings maybe?

the latest one on the tplink site (TL-MR3420_V1_110418). Will try resetting as well, I had used the haweii modem last week and i didnt have to install a thing, was soo hoping the mf was going to be the same.

My K4605 worked on the TP-Link MR3420 before I did AT^SETPORT=”A1;1,2″ command, and after I did that, it behaves exactly the same!!! It registers either "K4605" or "3G Modem". On another site they said you should use AT^SETPORT=”A1;1,2,3″ ... so who is right?

The 3=Diag USB port. Not to confuse the router, we decided to disable that part also on the K4605. I must say, VC connects with no problems, Cellc I have poor signal, and can take up to 5 minutes to connect. Have also seen show "3G modem" with cellc before it resets the K4605. So check signal.

Here is what the numbers =

AT^SETPORT=?
- Display configuration options

1:MODEM
2:PCUI
3: DIAG
4:PCSC
5:GPS
6:GPS CONTROL
7:NDIS
A:BLUE TOOTH
B:FINGER PRINT
D:MMS
E:PC VOICE
A1:CDROM
A2:SD

Warning, what we found so far from professor search is not to disable PCUI

Again, http://www.visagieh.com/innovations/how_to/k4605

Can confirm myself and one other person running with no problems.

Perhaps double check that all is set

AT^SETPORT=?

Tried this still doesnt work, the modem doesnt even install correctly on my pc, using windows 7 64 bit, windows cant frind the drivers, i downloaded them from the cell c website but still the drivers dont seem to install.

I also used the commands from the other thread, also didnt help, tried mdma, mdma is stuck on detecting device

Edited on sunday: So i now upgraded the tplink firmware to 110617, after the reboot, the router recognized the modem as the mf668, then on connection, it suddenly changes the status to unplugged, and there is this message "Unknow PIN status, please insure that your SIM/UIM is on unlock status". I tried enter the 4 digit pin but the page refreshes so fast i dont think it updates the pin.

I also tried connecting it again to my pc, and wow, for a short while it connected, downloaded the welcome sms's then just disconnected.

I think you have to disable the pin using the dashboard for your ISP - the router should then be OK as the modem doesn't require pin

Bundu, attempted to try your suggestion last night, but the modem wasnt being detected on my pc, so i uninstalled the cell c connector, then reattempted to install the software form the usb, but still nothing was detected, placed the modem in a windows xp machine and still nothing, placed it in router and nothing, no device was detected, taking it back to cell c today, hopefuly they can give me another modem, else i would have to get be a 8ta contract (bleh) they use the hauweii one so it should work.

Put the sim in a phone, switch on, enter the pin, then go to security settings and disable pin request.

I have a simple Nokia phone that I keep just for this sort of thing - I do it all the time.
