My ASUS RT-N66U router

Since the thread states that a list is needed of routers that will work with 3G/HSPA+ modems, I would like to add my current ASUS RT-N66U Dark Knight router to the list. I am constantly using my cellc 3G usb modem with this router to share 3G internet between all my wireless devices. This router is currently awaiting for a firmware fix to the CFE from ASUS in order to increase the nvram from 32k to a more respectable 64k. :erm::erm:

Besides still awaiting the newer firmware with this functionality, the router is IPV6 capable and with 3 antenna's for a longer signal range over 2.4ghz and 5ghz.

This is arguably the best single hardware purchase that I made this year. ;)

Links to product info, tech specs, etc. please.

I also have a Asus RT-N66U router, but although the hardware of this router seems to be very good, be aware that the software is very unstable and is not really ready for production release.

Based on the poor state of the software, I cannot actually recommend this router - mine is not usable at present, even though the hardware is fine.

I would recommend the purchase of the newer RT-AC66U, it has been updated and supports some of the newer network protocols.

I am not sure that the RT-N66U will ever be stable, as most of the software development effort now seems to be going into the newer model.

Sorry for the missing link to specs:

This router works perfect for me, and no installed software needed, since it uses web based configuration...

See the awards for this router here ---> ASUS RTN66U Awards

Plus with this router third party firmware can also be used. Please see this link for further information on this awesome router:

Now, with such a huge online following you cannot go wrong. And I thought the title to this thread was Routers to use with 3G/HSPA+ Modems :p

Anyone find a solution to the K4510-Z Modem being used on a Netgear Router? I need help here...

Routers to use with 3G/HSPA+ Modems

Same as hacksmack, but then k4505-z... Need to check if 8ta sim is compatible in k4505-z which would then plug into a compatible router.... Any suggestions?

Re: Routers to use with 3G/HSPA+ Modems

Merlin 3.0.0.4.220.18.

Will probably leave it like this for the moment, does everything I need.

I am on Merlin 246.19b. I also saw Asus has release a beta of a newer firmware
