Hi there,

So i've been having this problem with my ADSL line now for about a year. I'm with Mweb's 4096 Uncapped, but manage my Telkom line myself.
I've called Telkom & Mweb quite a few times already but no one can assist me.
Today I realised that the line seems to drop everytime I upload something, say like a short movie clip to Youtube or Facebook. Could it be that my line cannot handle that amount of data suddenly surging through it, or could it be some trouble with my old Telkom 5102G Router?

Anyone else ever experienced anything like this?

can you provide your modem stats, this find on the router.

example.
Bandwidth Down/Up(kbps) 6144 / 635
SNR Margin Down/Up(dB) 17.6 / 14.0
Attenuation Down/Up(dB) 38.0 / 21.3

here you go

Downstream | Upstream

SNR Margin

:
18.7 | 11.7 db

Line Attenuation

:
46.0 | 29.3 db

Data Rate

:
4096 | 511 kbps

Haven't tried another router, might try that tomorrow.

something like dlink 2500u is cheap and very good, even support half bridge mode :P

ah thought so. thanks for the advice.

Will probably test another router tomorrow, replace it and use the ol' 5102G as a doorstop.

Hi Fredvl,

Please send me your email address and your current firmware version. I will see if I can email you firmware that might solve your problem.
