That could be latency on our network, also seems like you could be testing over WiFi. Does testing over a LAN cable give any different results?

Hmmm... confused... AH 1GB is MTN not IS.

I am on a WebAfrica account now as my AH Capped is titsup again... and kids are streaming without death threats... so WebAfrica (IS) is working fine at the moment here in CT.

EDIT:

Here... quick tracert to Google... for what is might be worth;

Seems like intermittent latency on all accounts here, though us and Axxess seem to show more internal spikes. destination latency is not too bad though :(

Seriously, if you are going to be part of MTN's network, the network should at least not be composed of 30% faeces.

Honestly thinking of going back to Telkom at this stage. This is exactly what happened to them, and the reps were obviously told "everything will be fine" but in actual fact the network is a sack of crap and hasn't been upgraded in decades.

Also I'm paying nearly double for this and it is simply ****ty 70% of the time.

I really don't believe that we have a bad network. My experience has always been that when things are working as they should, we see excellent latency and great throughput on all accounts. At times like this when we are in need of some more capacity, we do see some poor performance and other symptoms arising. Once the capacity goes live, I expect we'll be seeing the excellent performance we've come to expect.

Hi,
I dont know... but i seem to be very lucky... I'm am on the 4mb uncapped business account, and i have NZB's downloading all day on and night on p443.. and it seems to stay at 390-410k/s for most of the time... there may be an hour or 3 in the day when it drops to 150-250, but I'm ok with that for the moment. Perhaps its my exchange that is just running smoothly for the last month of 2....

That's definitely a decent experience I would say. I do a few torrents for testing. I must say I don't often see the highs I've been used to, but I do get constant throughput and files comes through within a reasonable time for me.

Just cancelled accounts for my Father and Brother. Can browse, email, even download music from I-tunes.

My father can't game anymore, and his MIMS medical software won't connect.

So long AH.

Sorry to hear that you are cancelling. We wish you all the best for the future :)

Yea my internet has also decided to be throttled/shaped. http://speedtest.ookla.com/result/2728940085.png so much for 4meg business, even my opencrap mould account was better on the weekends

It's hard to tell just from an international test. What are your local tests like? We're definitely not throttling or shaping business, but your local throughput could tell us if there is a problem :(

AfriGuy or AfriMan

I still have issues getting disconnected while playing online.
Don't get any replies from you.
Playing D3 online.
Latencies shoot through the roof at times over 1000ms.

We have had some issues with certain games not being classified correctly. Those were mostly Destiny and ArchAge. We've worked with our technical team and some clients and I believe this is now resolved for most gamers on those titles.

Nothing should have changed with Diablo traffic that I can imagine, since it's been around for ages and we shouldn't have changes anything. Are you able to show any screenshots or traceroutes?

We're seeing improved performance since the weekend, but we have not yet lit up additional capacity. We are told the upgrade is imminent, but no confirmed date that I can share.

Then how can you say you are not throttling or shaping of additional capacity causing all the slow speeds as of late isn't "lit" up yet?

Here's a screenshot of the highest ping I had during the weekend.
View attachment 157234

Tested this morning and the connection seems very good. Ping of 203 to 300 on average with only the occasional spike. Hope it stays the way since the game is actually playable like this.

Why do you need to classify games correctly if you are not throttling or shaping business accounts?

All is not well in Cape Town :(
Latency spiking, with inconsistent throughput.

Then how can you say you are not throttling or shaping of additional capacity causing all the slow speeds as of late isn't "lit" up yet?

I don't know if you were rushing when you typed this. We are experiencing some slow speeds on certain services while we wait for the additional capacity to be activated.

Why only 'certain' services? All your comments, are confirming that you ARE shaping...

Don't you throttle/shape because of the capacity issues so everyone gets a fair share?
