I just wanted to say, great job afrihost - you guys impress me on a daily basis :)

im loving it :) :D  ;) :p  :)

That's awesome to hear! What product are you on at the moment? If you don't mind me asking?

Probably... Since there was significantly reduced throughput!

Hopefully the permanent solution won't be too long in coming.

So in the above we had good through put from ~4:50-5:07ish, again from around 5:53ish till around 6:13ish when something went bogus again, and then clean till 6:33pm when the usual bogus network reliability proceeded again.

So whatever causes these things seem to resolve your network reliability issues. (I assume it was more MTN drops of other clients or something along those lines)

I'm not sure to be honest... Have you been able to run on AfriGreen at all? I would like to see if you still have those spikes in latency then.

I am now seriously considering changing ISP. Even the Afrigreen doesn't perform better than the Business Uncapped. It is a struggle just to read gmail. Certain things work and other things doesn't work. There is definitely a clear path created for speedtest servers, but it doesn't relay back to daily services.

and i thought we were the only ones having these problems
come on ah out of ipc again after 1 week?

In terms of performance, you should definitely be seeing a step up in performance between @Afrihost and @AfriGreen.

Are you seeing issues with all of your Google-based services?

Not sure I understand what you are implying.... AfriGreen is chugging along quite nicely for most of the users on it.

I would have liked to test it out but unfortunately switching between the accounts seems to be a bit of a hassle; if you allowed us just to have two active logins at the same time(the original and a green/blue) then fine but my understanding is that the original account gets disabled which causes me to say rather the devil I know lol.

The Graph: They not spikes in latency, but are increases and decreases in packet loss which is far worse if your trying to play a game or stay connected to a server; this is probably also part of the reason why people are getting weird throughput since tcp reduces throughput when packets don't arrive. Black line is avg latency. - Afrihost specific.

12 hours - red is packet loss; the green circles are "weird" periods with no packet loss where the network performed correctly.

Afrigreen is not performing better.

I have not tested any other Google service, but at the moment the mail appears to be working after it was nearly non-existent during the whole day.

what is there not to understand browsing and other services is up to crap pages load and then dont

We definitely not seeing this in general. My tests on Gmail, YouTube and Google + were all perfect yesterday. Since we're all running off a single IPC, it won't matter too much which region you're in.

You're going to have to post some actual results for us to action, cos this is definitely not something we're seeing all over :(

At the moment we're not locking your old account. However, since you are using the same data allocation, I'm not sure if you can connect concurrently. You can definitely switch between accounts though, for the time being.

I would definitely try AfriGreen. My experience so far has been really good. The technical bugs we've come across have been solved very quickly, cos we have insight into the system to get a lot more info and make changes directly.

We have been working to improve overall Google services, which is a little difficult since our "AfriGreen" network is still small and not moving a lot of traffic (compared to Afrihost). However, we've definitely seen massive improvement. My tests showed good performance on G+, Gmail, YouTube, etc.

Any results you can post here?

I've been able to connect the two concurrently FYI - Not sure if I'm meant to, but I have the home router running on Afrigreen, and sometimes I dial the regular one on a specific device when there are issues.

As long as you're using the same data, we don't really mind. It's not going to be permanent so test away :)

Guys, please help me out with this one, I have been having issues with my account, certain things work, and certain things don't ie videos on Youtube wont work, Windows Update has issues, watching Supersport is not possible online, Twitch tv does not work. I average about 250-300GB per month, one month we downloaded 700GB, when Steam has a sale, and games are 40GB in size these days, you can download a lot. I was given 1 credit, and now I have been told by Afrihost they have done all they can, and basically been told to lump it or leave and get a different ISP.

We have 8-10 pcs connected, so even when doing Windows monthly updates, like this month each pc had to download about 280MB, so usage can be high.

There also seems to be an issue with the data usage tracker in the ClientZone. I see I have a Agrigreen account, which I have never used, but it shows a usage of 56GB?

looks like you are having dns problems as we could not work last night and our vpn did not work either so please stop telling us that you have no problems as soon as we switch over to another isp everything just works
and stop asking for tests just fix your network as that is what we are paying you for

See, this worries me. It's a POC and people are giving feedback and they are getting the same canned response already that there is no issue.

It just sounds to familiar.

Not sure what assistance I can offer here. We've discussed these issues extensively over PM (with myself and other reps) and I think we've let you know that we're working on the issues reported and this is also factored into the AfriGreen network. If you're already on the AfriGreen network, I would definitely suggest reporting this to the team so that they can address this :(
