My Afrigreen account seems to be lot worse, just normal speed tests, confirmed no traffic on line at time of testing both with SNMP graphing and IP Accounting checks direct on router.

And here is the SNMP of the local net tests:

Looks like there were a few AfriGreen accounts that were a bit off the mark in terms of performance, would you mind sending me your AfriGreen username so that we can have a look.

Yes at 10PM I actually switched my PC off as the experience was so bad. Even reloading mybroadband pages took seconds (10-15 seconds) to load.

I'm busy signing up for webafrica account, and I'll be cancelling afrihost today. You guys don't know what the hell is going on.

It looks like Youtube was performance wasn't quite up to scratch last night. Was it buffering the entire night?

OK, did some tests tonight.
Netflix- 800k to 1Mbps
Youtube plays full HD (I tested that first), but after playing netflix it came down at 200kbps
Vimeo - 300kbps

I switched to Afrihost DNS, no difference for Vimeo.

Speedtest 5.8Mbps

In one word - performance is dismal.

:(

Thanks for testing, we're checking on our side what is going on with streaming.

Getting truly pathetic speeds in Steam. As usual. Steam and Youtube have been rubbish for a while now. No issues with Origin, Battlenet or GOG Galaxy.

1 day 10 hours remaining...

:(

That's disappointing to say the least. Are you seeing similar issues with any other downloads? I've asked our team to check on the routing to both Youtube and Steam.

Bye Bye Afrihost! Just activated my webafrica account. In the first 5 minutes, brand new experience with my internet connection. Every thing is fast and responsive. You guys losing out on R1899 per month. Bad support and bad management team!

Wow... That's quite worrisome.

Have you received an AfriGreen username yet?

MyBroadband was being DDoSed for the last two days at random times, so that might not have been afrihosts fault.

Arg.. can't even buffer a video on News24. Youtube taking forever to open. Overall experience is terrible.

Afriguy could you please help? I've PM'ed my account details.

@AfriMan, what is that latest day to cancel without needing to pay for next month? (So I can give you the benefit of the doubt for the longest time possible)

You can cancel anytime before the 25th. Put your cancellation in now if you'd like, that way you can un-cancel on the last day of the month if you change your mind :)

Cant even download Windows Updates, speedtest shows full speed. Please I have been complaining for months about the issues with Windows Updates and still nothing has been done.

I definitely know you've bee experiencing this problem. At the moment, we've only moved a small group of users and we'll see less contention once we can move more people over to the POC network.

I think there's some reporting issues on your afrihost portal:
Shows the new account with the following info:

511GB
REMAINING

Data Statistics
Total Account Data: 5.00 TB
Data Used: 2.66 GB
Average Daily Usage: 181.76 MB

I just activated the account now and it show's I've used 2.66GB and still have a 5TB remaining?

I've noticed this too, will have our Devs check it out :)

AH Green,

-access.afrihost.co.za? With a 169 IP address?

Looks like you guys are on the NeoTel backbone.

:)

Is that ping fake?
