Hi guys,
A bit of advice please: I am thinking of upgrading my line (again). Currently i have Premium Uncapped 50/50. Looking at the options (and price), i am looking at the Premium Uncapped 100/10.
So my question is: Is UL speed enough at a 100/10 (my thinking is i Download and stream a lot more than i UL to cloud?)
Or is UL speed just as important as DL?
Thanks all
Honestly speaking it really depends are what you are using your connection for. If you are just downloading and streaming and then uploading backups on the odd occasion then it really isn't the important and I would go for the 100 Mbps download.![]()
Thanks for the reply - Upgrade requested to 100/10.
Any chance product support might look at at a 100/50 package? (Best of both worlds)
Something very odd is happening with the fibre Internet- WhatsApp suddenly says it can't retrieve messages over the network.
Aaaand the network is down again. FFS
Hi,
Is there a specific waiting period before a package upgrade is processed? It was submitted on Friday and clientzone confirmed it had been processed - But no change as yet?
Update: Done this morning
Hi there
It normally takes about 48 hours for this to be done. Has it still not been done?
Hi there. Ok, I've been quiet for a while now, while I monitored my connection. But I'm now reaching out to Afriman and whoever could help on this forum, or this is the end of the road for my and Afrihost.
My connection is progressively getting worse.
Afrihosts own website took 16 seconds to load.
I rarely get over 100mbps on a 200mbps line.
Even though my connection speed test shows around 90mbps, it's unusable. I cannot browse Facebook, it just loads and loads blank pages. I cannot use Whatsapp for web on my Macbook, as messages don't load. It's worse than my 10mbps ADSL line, even though it's "much faster".
It's REALLY REALLY bad. Can't stream netflix. Forget about DSTV now.
200/100 capped Fibre account.
PLEASE HELP.
What about connecting directly to the CPE with a new LAN cable, just to eliminate internal network issues.
Tried that. 3 different cables.
Restated router.
Tried different computers and devices.
You've cleared your arp table and DNS?
Yup. The reason why I'm so frustrated is because I just bought a brand new MacBook Pro. Performs the same as any other computer when doing a speed test. Even factory reset the router, no difference. Tried connecting with an Apple Airport Extreme, slight speed improvement. But no where usable.
Not even Instagram loads!

That's a really peculiar issue!Which DNS servers are you using on your WiFi router? Did you manually configure the MTU?

Happy birthday! I am so sorry for your experience, I hope it gets resolved quickly by Afrihost. Enjoy the rest of your day.Oh look, for my birthday, Afrihost is being so generous by taking away my Internet![]()
