Afrihost Fibre Feedback

I cannot give you a time frame at this stage. :(

Pity, although not surprising...

My Afrihost Capped Fibre service commenced in June 2017.

The reason I signed up was because I was an existing and happy (dare I say impressed capped ADSL subscriber at the time).
Upon enquiring, I was promised an array of good things by Afrihost reps about capped data rollover, free-time/after hours data. Simply stated, their pitch was that I would be getting everything I was on capped ADSL, just this time around on fast fibre. It sounded perfect, so I went ahead and signed-up.

Not long after my fibre service activated, I discovered that there was no way to accurately track or monitor my data use on any instance of ClientZone (browser or app). Afrihost Reps responded saying that it would be fixed 'very soon' and that developers were working on this as a 'priority'.
After the first month, I realised that capped data rollover was non-existent. Again, Afrihost Reps reacted saying it was work-in-progress and that they would help out by manually rolling-over data, but for this, I have to send a PM and wait for about a week each month before it is done. They said that a fix was 'imminent'...
Ironically, once the data is rolled-over, the data monitoring debacle becomes even more frustrating because now there's no way of knowing how much was rolled-over, how much of that is left and whether the usage is taken from rolled-over data in the first place.
The one piece that seems to work is after-hours data, but again there's no way to track/monitor this.

Here we are, 9 months later - it is February 2018 and the product that was committed to me by the Afrihost Reps is not the product/service I'm receiving.

My options are limited, since from the experiences of the likes of @paoloc and @Totempole, I would be subjected to even more torture if I would dare try to make any change to my product or cancel.

It may sound a little dramatic, but as a consumer, in a way it feels that I'm now a hostage of an Afrihost conspiracy and every month I'm reminded of this when having to send PMs and beg to have my data rolled-over and obtain balances.

The crux of all this is that the Afrihost Capped Fibre service is NOT functioning as it should or as it was described to me before signing up.

I said this before: imagine how customers of mobile network providers would react if the networks promised them carry-over and accurate tracking of minutes+data and then simply abandons them high and dry with a half-baked service...? Why should it be any different for Afrihost?

My available is currently on 398.68GB. Given that I'm on a 200GB with AH+, effectively meaning my base package is 400GB, that means I have had NO rollover  And then they wonder why I get annoyed when "highly qualified and skilled developers" aren't able to provide an ETA... other than 'soon' .. for the past how many months ??

Hey guys. I am seeing reports of fibre rollover links not being extended into February, or even some February links not being added at all. Our Devs are working on a fix for this, but if you are still affected, please feel free to send me a PM with your account info and I'll manually extend your link for you. :)

Sorry for posting this here, but so far its been allmost impossible to apply for fiber trough Afrihost as they simply dont respond to tickets, if AfriFella or Afriguy sees this please assist:

At this stage I am very close to just going with some one else entirely, as I simply cant trust a ISP that doesnt respond to tickets

I see that the link has been extended and we've also extended your links for next month.

We're definitely working on working out the kinks in the system and as far as I am aware the large majority of clients are getting their roll-over. We'll keep investigating why this is not working as expected, but we're absolutely happy to extend links for you at any time until the automation is resolved.

Thank you for the actions and feedback.
Would really be good to see this fixed permanently.

We would definitely like to as well. There is obviously some programming complexity to it that I won't even try to understand - I leave it to the super clever people :)

Thanks so much for understanding :)

i have applied fiber since 19th of Jan, until now still havn't been installed. the first two weeks, the hotline said need to be wating two weeks, after two weeks, they said need 3 weeks. This week went to office twice, the last one, someone said my address was wrong, which was written by them on 19th. Nobody called me about this, waste me 3 weeks. After update information, need waiting another 2 weeks, how bad the service is???

Sorry that you had this bad experience, I am sure the team are doing their best to get as much feedback as they can.
