Afrihost Fibre Feedback

That's a really peculiar issue! :( Which DNS servers are you using on your WiFi router? Did you manually configure the MTU?

change the MTU or MSS(if you have a USG) to 1436 this should fix it. Ray7905

Jeeeeeesus, Afrihost support are useless...

So when my line is down, I run Wireshark and send then the captures. Guess what the reply from support is, 24 bloody hours later?

At this point, the line appears to be up, and there is a data connection established.
Kindly confirm if you are experiencing issues at this point?
Please let us know if you encounter any further issues.

What a ****ing moron, telling me the obvious.

Yes, the line is up right now. BUT IT WASN"T yesterday at the times I specified, that's why I sent them the Wireshark captures, so that they could investigate what was happening!

What's the bloody point of support just telling me that the line is up, and then not looking at the Wireshark captures when it's not???

Hi Afripeople.

What is happening with the rollover of data on the fibre packages? I don't see any status of it on the interface that was supposed to have been updated last year already?

"Hi
Sorry for the inconvenience. I can assure you our devs are working around the clock on this. It's definitely one of their main priorities.
Please PM me and I can find out how much data you have left. "

You need to message the Afripeople for it. Still hasn't been implemented in at least near two years, probably never will.

Thanks for the feedback. It is very annoying that they have not sorted this out yet.

I was chatting to you earlier on Twitter, I've received the ticket reference number and I'm looking into this. I may need to log a fault for your Fibre line.

The Wi-Fi router I received from Afrihost with the fibre package was giving very slow speeds.
I logged on to client zone and asked for an exchange. I stated very clearly to the call centre that it needed to be sorted out URGENTLY as I often work from home. They said it would take about a day to sort out and return either a new one or the old one, depending on the problem
The router was collected on Monday 6th August by Dawn Wing at about 14h00.
I am still waiting for answers from Afrihost on the status. Disgusting service from them  Looking at changing my service provider as I speak.

Some feed back from warehouse regarding yesterday's escalation for my router dated Thursday 9th August

"Hi Kumani,

We normally do not have a time frame for returns and we really have a lot returns to deal with on a daily.
If the client handed their router to the courier yesterday it may take 3-5 days for the router to come back to Afrihost,"it was returned on the Monday 6th August" we will then need to test it and then decide if the client gets a new router or give back the same router to the client should if it not be faulty."

Have a great day further

Regards

Knocking my head against the wall with Afrihost Fibre for the past few weeks.

1) Experience terrible ping in CSGO Matchmaking during the evening (100+ when my friends are all on 5 ping). This is with no other devices on the network. During day time, ping is 5 both on the new and old package I was on.
2) Upgrade my level of fibre in the clientzone to check whether or not that is the issue. First need to convince Afrihost support that this actually did occur as my line went from 40mb to 10mb Priority fibre makes no difference.
3) Somebody in Afrihost enables OTP authentication on my account. The number the OTP goes to is not mine and never has been. But, I can receive SMSs on my phone to rate their service on the number I actually do have. Now I am locked out of my own account and need to provide loads of proof to get an OTP service I never asked for working.

This has officially become a circus.

A one day turnaround is definitely not viable, unless you live very close to us and hand your router in personally. We have to give the courier a chance to deliver to us, the router must be scheduled for testing, etc and then we either ship the unit back after repair (which can take a few days) or we ship a replacement.

If you have a reference or you can give me your ClientZone username I can get an update for you via PM.

Sorry about the horrible experience you've having :(

It looks like you're already working through these issues on Twitter - just let us know where you'd prefer to engage with us :)

I am not working through anything on twitter, I have not yet received a response.

If this can be the first response to my issue, we can handle it on MyBB
