Afrihost is upgrading its ADSL network

Too little, too late.

Have already cancelled.

Cannot put up with the bad service and empty promises anymore.

Sure they release a statement when Joburg is affected, when Cape Town is suffering it's apparently not that important

I am on the same MTN network and life is terrible on this network at the moment. Slowest speeds ever. Especially with international downloads. I have a 10mb adsl line and I struggle to get 2mb int speeds.

Have been getting this speed for over a month now on a 20Mb/s line.

Watch this slow down even further when iOS 8.1 hits later today.

Speeds are normal when switching to other ISP accounts.

They've been in this situation for months. I waited it out when they said they were getting extra capacity in CT which ended up being 10-20%, or something stupid like that.

Web Africa are awesome so can't see myself ever going back.

they must throttle the IOS users and not the capped users !

Too little too late. I'm moving to webafrica at the end of the month.

I blame MTN and Telkom.
I already have a WebAfrica account, it's nice to have but it's not a whole lot better.

Also switched to their 1GB free account and opened WA capped account.

Doubt Afrihost will have any "capacity" problems as MANY people have/are moving to Webafrica (insert other ISP name here)

Why am I getting perfect speed on my 10mbps line on an Afrihost capped account ?

Maybe you are staying within 2km from the exchange.
I had a 10mb line and could not get more than 3.4mbps. Changed to 4mbps and still get 3.4mbps on a capped account.

^^This... MTN has to be the issue! Things turned to crap quite soon after Afrihost dropped IS for MTN...
