Afrihost Mobile Delivery Feedback Thread

This is a bit frustrating lol! I phoned Afrihost, and they gave me a number. Then I phone collivery and they told me the waybill is wrong and they do not need an Afrihost Waybill. And that waybill means that AFrihost has not handed it in to the courrier yet. Then someone at Afrihost said that the parcel will be delivered today, and then Collivery guy is rude and told me how can they tell you taht if we dont even have the parcel or numbers. So I don't know what to do lol it seems very complicated and deurmekaar :)

Collivery 122**** Status is : Waiting Client Acceptance

Really? So where is the MDS Collivery van then? Certainly not outside our house.

Edited to add: Just called MDS and the dude said it is still at their Pta office.

Ag Nicci, as ek kon sou ek jou troos! Ek het bree skouers.

They're going to go through every item one by one to find it are they? Which would be funny in the case of people who have theirs, but the courier thinks they haven't even sent it out yet.

They are fairly organized albeit overwhelmed due to sheer volumes thanks to Afrihost but no thanks to the idiots wasting their time for no shows. I was in their depot. All the units as they arrive are sorted in batches of locations about 100/delivery per bike. I called told them to coordinate delivery time is an issue and i would prefer to collect. As my way-bill was already sorted they could find it within ten minutes and told me I can collect. They specifically kept mine separate at their offices ready for collection.

To be able to communicate, and with respect on top of it, is a virtue.

Can I confirm with you on the 7th? :p
In all seriousness though, it'll definitely be there on that date of before that. Ill do something embarrassing and post it otherwise.

Hehe so thought about anything embarrassing to do yet?

As is clear many of the no shows have been the delivery guys. We already had them give a specific day for one delivery and someone waited all day, but they never turned up. Then suddenly the status changed to essentially that they'll deliver it sometime in the future. So now it does mean they're going to have to keep coming back until they happen to arrive when someone is on hand to take delivery. In another case I know they have delivered, but according to them it hasn't even been sent out yet. I'll just leave them to figure it out. They'll eventually find the packages and sooner or later arrive at a suitable time.

As usual you will never get it. They have had thousands to deliver. So if they have to deliver a 100 batch and many customers waste their time, say twenty @ 5minutes each is nearly two hours wasted in the day. Those have to be rescheduled again. Just a simple call for each had me success twice in a row in two weeks.

Still trying to wrap my mind around, they could not deliver on Wed...they were not able to find my building...the thing is in the centre of Adderley Street...It has massive signage.....All I can think of is, The Ministry of Magic must be on Floor 5 1/2 and they had how to make a building disappear practicals on Wed....because I know the building is here, as I am in it and was in it on Wednesday.....and why do they not phone, hello?

My status never showed a estimated delivery time. The guy called me 10 minutes before the time, I'm just glad it was during the day :D

The reason though was because the package was no longer being tracked by MDS as they got another delivery company to handle it. I've got it now but cannot say it was the most organised affair.

Ha, at least you guys are getting somewhere, I have been told by collivery, its in a bag they just received from Afrihost (this was yesterday 4 Sept 2013), wonder why the only "just received from Afrihost" and that I can hopefully expect delivery by 10 September. WTF? So I will have 10 days to burn the 5 gigs and not 30. To top this all off, I needed it for my trip where MTN 3g signal is only available, this is for the date 9-14 September. So if they try deliver on 10 Sept, I wont even be available, sigh.

This has been a major fail.

Received mine (at the second attempt). Delivery guy called this time.

I just wanted to say thank you to Afrigirl who gave me the correct waybill number. I have phoned the courrier people and shame they are flooded. They said I will receive mine in next week some time. I think we all need to be patient, they have thousands of the things lying around there, and can't deliver everything at once. I am glad my thing is still there and not missing :)

My own hasn't either. I was simply using the one where they did as an example of the fact that the system has obviously gone completely haywire. There they sent out a message with a delivery date and said make sure to be at this address on this day, all day. That was days ago. It's also obvious from reading this thread that in many cases the couriers are at fault for delays because they fail find someone's address, fail to call to ask for help. But some people would like to lay all the blame on the recipients for not sitting patiently day after day until a courier appears. Because there's a requirement that the courier collect paperwork the onus is on them to contact people and give them a reasonable estimate of the expected arrival time and to contact them to let them know of delays.

Got an email this morning at 7h30, and the delivery guy arrived at lunch time. RICA checking quick and easy, and he was on his way minutes later. He had about 60 units still to do today.

It seems the biggest challenge these guys have is setting up their GPS units with waypoints (deliveries). His GPS only takes 4 at a time, which must be a real hassle to keep reloading all day. Still, it must be a lot easier than working out routes manually.
