Afrihost Mobile Delivery Feedback Thread

Only idiots would buy with the great price from Afrihost.

And you'll find that the people who ordered extra to sell are the same idiots complaining about mobile data prices etc.

Wow, pretty enterprising I guess. At least the person who buys it may end up being an Afrihost client in that case :)
 
Why not use the default delivery address that was already in the ClientZone before launch on the 20th?

On launch day I made the mistake of inserting my home address. I immediately created a support ticket to have it rectified and I received confirmation that it was done.

Then I received the email to confirm my address. It was my work address but incomplete. Support did not update my address correctly. :(

I think using a default address would probably have been worse.

If 8,000 people had the opportunity to input any address of their choice and then 50% of them STILL decided to change their address, imagine how many have old or incorrect addresses that they've never bothered to fix in ClientZone. Even though we've given away iPads to get people to fix their details, I don't think we can do so without verifying each and every time :(
 
Sigh. Last monday I received a email from them that they have received my order and will send it out as soon as possible.

I'm hoping you mean monday and not the previous monday, becuase we hadn't opened pre-orders yet :(

Drop me a PM and I'll take this up with the courier. Just need all your details to trace your parcel.

My bad. Subtle difference on the two emails. The first one was a Collection Instruction (Actually for Saturday the 24'th) and the new one is a Notification of Collection Instruction (Saturday 31'st)
When I checked last night the status was Order Processing, but this morning it is now In branch - Prescheduled. Let see how it goes tomorrow.

I'm sure it will go well, started to see even the very upset people on Twitter and Facebook getting their stuff, and I know from the couriers that they are spitting out deliveries like mad.

Afriman - now I know that I am not a very patient person. But i've got to admit - Afrihost and MDS have handled this as well as expected. Anyway, we were only supposed to get them on the 6th so no complaining here. Well done on coping with people who are getting annoyed because of the "late" deliveries! :D

Thanks, we do our best to keep everyone up to date and informed. Everyone will get their parcel by the 6th.

Madness will continue for us though, cause hopefully the full public launch will also have some craziness on signups. A month from now, I doubt anyone will even remember the issues from this :)
 
AfriMan - Any chance that the courier can give me a call when they arrive? I work as a contractor at a large office building, so I don't have a desk phone that the reception can dial when the courier arrives. ( They're dropping it off tomorrow ) - Delivery number 1211896
