Afrihost Mobile Delivery Feedback Thread

I received the text message telling me it would be delivered in 1-2 days after mine was already delivered. Wife received a text message to say it would be delivered in 1-2 days last week, then yesterday an e-mail with a tracking number, tracking stating it was with the driver and would be delivered by 6 September. So maybe today. Not really a big deal because we don't need it urgently, but does mean no effort is made to make sure she's on hand to take delivery.
 
Yes. Sim is "snappable".
You can also cut a standard SIM down to micro size. I've done that in the past and it works as long as you cut neatly. For these ones that you can break out it is also possible to slot the micro part back into the standard SIM frame.

Tomorrow will be one week and no sign of a delivery! I ordered my Sim only 5GB bundle last week Wednesday... Not chuffed with turnaround time at all...

Ordered mine August 20. Actually ordered 2. And I bet you will still get yours before I get mine :D
 
I got mine yesterday. It's a really nice little device. Only issue was that it kept switching to Edge, so I used MDMA to set the device to 3G/HSPA only and it has been working well since.

My Cell C sim also works well in the device, regardless of the APN that is set to 'afrihost'.
 
Just got an Afrihost email im only a few easy steps away from using my Mifi device.. awww.. if only i had it already.. Looks like we going for Monday Three.

Just got the same mail. Quite funny.
 
Got my device this afternoon! MDS still had my original address on it (without the changes I made last week Wednesday to add the building).

But oh well, I have it!

Sent a message back to say that we were in pre-scheduled meetings between 09.00 and 10.00 and again from 12.00 until 14.30 and that delivery should not take place in those times.

What happens ... the delivery guy comes at 13.30. That is just annoying.

I hope an AfriHost rep comes forward on what to do next because we simply cannot put work on hold the entire day waiting for a delivery, or the delivery company needs to make an appointment and keep it.

In my experience this is how delivery guys work. If you are lucky they deliver on the day they mentioned they'll deliver. And I can understand that they guy takes a bunch of packages and drives out and get's delayed etc.

What irks me more is if you get an e-mail and it says you can change an address and it will be reflected, or reply to send them comments - and they ignore it. THAT is just bad service.

Mine was delivered yesterday but i missed it, was told he'd be back today but hasn't yet. And if he comes after 16:30, i'll miss him again.
 
They stated it was out for delivery yesterday, but they didn't deliver. They now claim they attempted to deliver which I know is nonsense. Then they don't try to deliver today, but say they'll send it out tomorrow or some other time in the future that they won't specify. They also falsely claimed that the tracking updates with information on the driver's progress when it is out for delivery. I'm now thinking that the courier company wasn't merely overwhelmed by the demands of delivering so many packages, but incompetent to begin with.
 
@ebendl ... It is bad service if they send you a message, and you reply to ensure that the process goes better both for them and for yourself, and they simply ignore it or don't respond. What's the point of sending the message or the reply in the first place, if it is to be ignored completely.

In this case, the address was unchanged. There were just times during the day that meetings were pre scheduled and delivery could not take place during those times. Surely the dispatch office contacted the driver? I know they all have mobiles, and surely he was told go there a bit later.

I still have no idea what will happen as we could get into an endless loop with this unless someone from Afrihost or the delivery company actually calls. That would save both time and money, preventing the delivery guy from driving up and down. Surely that makes business sense.

I called today and they said a third party was going to deliver tomorrow... They also said the driver tried to deliver on the 5th of September but my RICA docs were not ready, which is a lie, BTW.

True colours are coming out. They also lied to me as well but the 1 consultant was honest and said the driver didn't manage to finish his rounds on that day, the next day I spoke to another lady and she said I wasn't at home which is a blatant lie and that the package will be dispatched but never happened. Now on their system they put that they driver couldn't find my place*Seriously is a lie part on the drivers part cause the normal thing would be is to contact me on the phone and I was outside doing garden work in front of the house
