Afrihost Mobile special data promotion continues

What I may consider is IF I can get consistently less than 100ms local latency on the 2100Mhz 3G? I get 50-60ms latency on Vodacom LTE but their data charges are horrendous.

Just buy a prepaid MTN sim and test....

The APN data won't work on a prepaid SIM I'm afraid :(

I know - but Bobbin stated that they would be keen to take up your service if the latency is low. Hence, they should buy a prepaid MTN sim, load a small amount of value on and surf to test their tower/area....

Great news

Keep it up

Btw I don't think I have used my full data allocation in a single month BUT what is great is that it means whenever Eskom decide to be stupid or I need to work from out of the house I can do so comfortably.

Ah I see, makes sense now, sorry. I'll grab some more coffee :)

Afrihost should change their name to AfriInternetConnection because their hosting has been piss poor these last couple of months. Their mobile offers are great though.

Glad you're digging the news :)
Personally, I battled to touch 1GB for the first few months on my phone. It takes a while to realise how useful and awesome data is on your mobile. I use it for everything now!

I stream radio stations while I drive, or SoundCloud or Google Music. Most of my pics are uploaded straight to Dropbox or Google Drive. My phone comes with me on all my runs streaming music and tracking my run. It's awesome :D

I think Afrihost should change their name to Afriband. Doing well in the broadband space; but horribly in the hosting space. As much as I criticize Afrihost for their recent hosting disasters; well done on the mobile broadband product; works great especially what you can do in ClientZone.

I think our APN name is all good as Afrihost :) Sorry you're frustrated by the hosting issues, there are unrelated to Mobile though.
Our teams are hard at work coming to a solution on the Hosting things.

Haha what are the chances that we post this at just about the same time. It's been incredibly frustrating though.

That is my number one reason I like the package. I can listen to Simfy with no worries.
The other reason is the reminder they send if when you've been inactive. As I person who swops ROMS around a lot, it is a good thing cause one might just as easily forget to setup an Afrihost AP
