I missed that memo.

my latest Vox invoice says:

so is it 200GB or 150GB or 400GB :wtf: #confused

Hey guys

Can we please keep this thread to Afrihost issues? Makes it kinda hard to stay on topic otherwise :(

Thanks :)

Morning AfriPeeps

Any feedback on the MWEB hosted site issues? Makes working on them impossible on my Afrihost capped accounts.

It was definitely reported, I haven't heard any updates but definitely seems to be an issue on Mweb's side. We're trying to get them to resolve :(

a suggestion to solve Afrihost's dilemma:

1.) Give everyone with Afrihost Plus+ (new and existing clients) 18h of Free-Time per day, regardless of whether they are on a Capped, Uncapped or Prepaid account. To sweeten the deal even further, add monthly Roll-over to capped data.

This will ensure Afrihost receives at least what seems to be their break-even revenue in this case of R99 per user per month.

2.) Allow anyone who chooses to purchase JUST Afrihost Plus+ at R99 per month, the 18h of Free-Time per day and Soft Cap them (as per Afrihost Plus+ existing T's & C's) to 128 kbps download speed between 18:00 and 00:00 .

3.) Any add-on data purchased will then just be for the remaining 6h each evening (between 18:00 and 00:00) according to the client's choice: Capped, Uncapped or Prepaid Afrihost data.

point 1.) above will be enough to incentivise me to buy Afrihost Plus+ which I do not currently do.

I really like the thinking here, definitely something we can look into.

Just bear in mind that Afrihost Plus is a standalone product, as it has Simfy, 500MB Mobile Data, etc. So there are also hard costs associated with that.

But definitely some food for thought here. I'll mention this to Gian and his team and take all the credit if they go for it :)

Any idea if the double data promo will become permanent?

Many ISPs offer 200GB at R 199. Hate to see that go :(

I currently have 50GB (which is now 100GB with promo) with AH+. So during the promo I got 200GB.

Would love to have this still going. Btw, glad the Free Time is extended till Dec. I'm on the R 99 package so I qualify, yay!

The Double Data promotion runs until the end of December. :) We'll have an update before then with regards to Double Data.

Super-glad that you are going to have the extended Free-Time.

i basically mentioned this to Genie and Gian re changing it to 100GB capped packages and above only, and not lower. So blame me to those below :D However, i feel that is right, and even if you guys are happy to see people use the data, i dont think it was right for said user to pay R29 and consume 3TB of data. That is something which will see Free Time removed, and see regular long time clients pack it in and move, because they are being respectful towards the next one.

Free time is awesome, its innovative, its smart, and its moving internet in this country forward and onto another level. it now makes Internet affordable as well. Its great to see Free Time into December, but i do feel that Free Time needs at least 6 months to give the best possible idea of how it goes

Facebook videos are buffering constantly. :( using Afrihost DNS.

Mind checking if there's an issue?

Anybody else with crappy latency in durban?
