Thank you for getting rid of the "friendlies".
Now you can deal with the issues at hand.
Can I add one more to the many: Afrihost webpage in the Southern Cape(Mossel Bay) has done a disappearing trick. Not that I need it, but this is what this forum is about.

My Shaped Capped is performing just as good as the unshaped one. No complaints so far. Netflix streaming well during peak hours. Just one question afriman, does afrihost plus allow data rollover? And for how long?

Great to hear that you're having such a good experience! :) Afrihost Plus will tie in with your Capped rollover indeed. Whatever you don't use (double data and all) will rollover into the next month and be used first before your actual monthly allocation.

EDIT:
I am the only person on my line, 20-21ms ping to bras.afrihost.com during these speedtests with the exception of the upload portion due to the nature of ADSL.
This is within Cape Town to Vox server.

CellC, ping improvement, still high for local though.

Morning Johnatan. I know that you've been complaining for a few weeks now and we don't seem to be getting anywhere with actually resolving your problem. Where most others appear to be having an overall good experience, there still seems to be niggling issues with your connection and I think it's time to get our Critical Care involved here for some intensive troubleshooting - and to get to the bottom of this once and for all. Please PM me your details and I'll put you in touch.

Hi Afrihost people,

I am in Pretoria and am on a capped (now shaped) account (2Mbps). As of yesterday, 2 January, i was experiencing terrible latency, upto 1300 s when i ran a speed test. I complained on twitter, but no one was available, i only got a response this morning. The complaints being result on this forum are similar to what i was getting. SO i moved to my back up account with webafrica and i am not experiencing such problems. Please do let me know when you have figured out what the hell is going on then i can come back. I have been a loyal member for quite some time, and i wouldnt want to take drastic measures due to this latest shaping thats being implemented.

Regards,

Me

Morning Rusitu. :) Sorry to hear about the delayed responses here. We're definitely not seeing latency as high as that on our network at the moment. This could indicate that there is some other issue with your local network, perhaps, but we'll have to determine this through troubleshooting. When you switch to WA do you run with the account for an extended period of time? Often switching accounts will temporarily appear to have fixed your latency problems, but you might find that it will deteriorate over time. Feel free to drop me a PM with your account details and your Twitter handle so that I can look into your previous chat history as well as any tests that you have already run. :)

Morning Christo. Not sure what you mean by our webpage doing a disappearing trick? Mind clarifying this a little? :)

Was helping a friend last night. Buffering on Afrihost account when streaming but no buffering on Axxess and/or Telkom. Also Afrihost webpage refused to open on all 3 ISP's. This issue rectified itself later on.

Established this morning that the Afrihost account involved is a shaped account and was closed as of end of January 2017.

Streaming on another ISP account now and problem solved.
Will try Afrihost again later today - cricket.

Thanks for clarifying. :) I find it strange that even if the account was shaped, your streaming and browsing to afrihost.com should not have been affected. Please test again and let me know if you encounter any further issues so that we can do some realtime troubleshooting.
